Mellissa Carone; New Queen of the Republican Party?

Mellissa or Melissa? The traditional way or not? I've seen it spelled both ways recently. Regardless, this woman is frickin' awesome. Her performance with Rudy Giuliani in court was EPIC! She's younger and prettier than Sarah Palin so this woman needs a serious look to replace the Republican Party's reigning Queen of the RNC.

After Rudy's press briefing in back of Four Seasons Total Landscaping, nestled near the neighboring Fantasy Island Adult Bookstore and Delaware Valley Cremation Center (all less than a mile south of a Philadelphia correctional center) I thought Rudy couldn't top himself. Even the hair dye sweat wasn't close. Ms. Carone's epic court appearance topped everything.
Kudos to Rudy and Ms. Carone for kicking the finals days of Donald J. Trump in an epic fashion!

Like many Republican middle-class 30somethings of Ms. Carone's caliber, she has had a few run ins with the law.

Notice "Mellissa Carone was sentenced to 12 months probation in September of 2019" for a computer crime.

A star witness in President Trump's effort to overturn the 2020 election just recently got off probation for committing a "computer crime," the Daily Mail reports.

Mellissa Carone was sentenced to 12 months probation in September of 2019 for the crime which took place the year before. Carone struck a deal with prosecutors who dropped a first-degree obscenity charge against her.

Carone became a viral story after she appeared as a key witness in the Trump campaign's Michigan voter fraud claims.

Everything that happened at that TCF Center was fraud," she said, when appearing on December 2 in front of a Michigan House oversight committee. "Every single thing."

"I have 19 things in my affidavit. I was at the TCF Center for 27 hours. I am a mother, I have two children, and I have two degrees," Carone said in a video that was shared by President Trump on Twitter. "I don't know any woman in the world that would write an affidavit under oath just to write it. You can go to prison for this. So anyways, I want to make this very clear. My, I was initially supposed to work at the Detroit Department of Elections building. That was an order by my manager . . . part-owner of Dominion. I have it all in emails . . . I was trained on the adjudication and tabulation process. . . . I know for a fact there was illegal activity going on there. People have pictures of people carrying ballots out of that place."

Before her testimony, Carone gave interviews to right-leaning media where she claimed ballots were being smuggled inside food vans. Her claims even seemed to spark confusion in Fox Business host Lou Dobbs.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Agreed. Rudy is second. I wonder what he's being paid to do something which he believes might require a pardon?

Pardon me for saying so but...

Lately the WH is a bastion of manners.

It's all: "Oh pardon me."

And: "NO! Please pardon ME..."

Pardon me, would you?

Beg your pardon?

I do expect Trump to attempt a preemptive pardon of himself. I suspect the attempt will go all the way to SCOTUS. Any guesses on which way it would go?

A pardon cannot be granted where there is no crime, so he has no power to issue a blanket pardon for possible future charges.

He might be able to pardon himself. That has already been debated. But not for charges which may come in the future. No way the SCOTUS would uphold that.

It's a tricky thing for him.

He can't be charged with a crime until his term of office ends, but then once that happens he can't pardon himself.

Such a dilemma!

Debated but not settled in court. Trump will do it then try to defend it in court. It might take a few years.

It has to do with the definition of a pardon.

A pardon is for an actual crime, not a possible one.

No disagreement there but when has Trump ever been rational for long? He's likely to declare himself pardoned now and forever. When someone charges him with a crime, he'll wave a piece of paper, signed as POTUS. The rest will be settled in court. :D

Exactly.

And he will lose.

Even Kav and Barrett would toss that nonsense out.

That's what courts are for. To tell people like Trump who will try anything that the dog won't fly.

I hope he loses, but that's not the previous point: Trump is crazy enough to do it, consequences be damned.

Agreed it will be resolved in court, but I wouldn't bet much money on the outcome because, in today's crazy US government, I'm not confident justice would be done.
