More than three dozen members of Congress have announced they will not seek re-election next year, some to pursue other offices and many others simply to get out of Washington. Twelve have announced their plans just this month.

The wave of lawmakers across chambers and parties announcing they intend to leave Congress comes at a time of breathtaking dysfunction on Capitol Hill, primarily instigated by House Republicans.

When 19 Dems and 11 Reps choose to leave the house it is not a "mostly republican" thing. This does count the 11 congresscritters that are vying for Senate Seats instead, but that's still 30 folks leaving, about 2/3 that are leaving are Democrats.

Why are you trying to upset bidenpresidents delusional rant with facts?

Not making a big deal about it, seems to occur every election, but why would a GOP Congressman quit the House when it is their party that controls the House? it is their opportunity to finally get a say on affairs and policies they support?

Government is fixing to shut down because a GOP House can’t get their act together and consider playing brinkmanship with the nation’s economy an acceptable path to appease their MaraLago handlers

Good make it so the leftist maggots cant do anymore damage

no it isn't.

Did not the GOP dismiss their Speaker because he arrived at an even a temporary compromise solution? Will this not be the third attempt of the GOP to pass anything beyond a month or so remedy? Are not loaning agencies discussing downgrading America’s credit worthiness because the House can not accomplish anything? Doesn’t Israel, the Ukraine, and border measures remain wanting because the GOP House can not get their act together?

Or are you suggesting that the MTGs, Jimmy Jordan’s, Jim Comers, Matt Gaetzs, and the rest of the Freedom idiots don’t taking their marching orders directly from Maralago?

Democrats are leaving because it is not worth the living in fear and the threats being placed on them and their families lives for just being Democrats!

Ask Nancy!

And the Republicans are leaving because they no longer want to represent a MALEVOLENT Republican Party they do not even recognize anymore.

And, if you doubt me, ASK ANYONE OF THEM! I DARE YOU!

You think that it isn't being administered by an AI now? I mean, Dementia Joe can barely read his lap notes and teleprompters in English and you think he's actually running something?

Representative Ken Buck, Republican of Colorado, announced he would not seek re-election after his dissatisfaction and sense of disconnect with the G.O.P. had grown too great. Mr. Buck, who voted to oust Representative Kevin McCarthy from the speakership, has denounced his party’s election denialism and many members’ refusal to condemn the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

“We lost our way,” Mr. Buck told The New York Times this month. “We have an identity crisis in the Republican Party. If we can’t address the election denier issue and we continue down that path, we won’t have credibility with the American people that we are going to solve problems.”

Why do you right wingers obsess about teleprompters? Seriously, no sane person gives a speech without notes.

If he could function at all without them nobody would be "focusing" on that. Reading your crotch notes when meeting with a world leader because you cannot remember simple talking points does not point to evidence of a functioning brain or curtail the worries of the American people. Simply being unable to recognize the difference between a press conference with a leader with a functioning brain and one who needs simple instructions telling them where to stand, what to say, who to call on, all written down (with capitalized YOU so the pResident can pretend to remember that when they talk to the President it means YOU) so they don't screw it up and put in order so that they don't read the wrong response in the wrong order... well, that's on you.

No one gives a speech without notes or reading from a prepared text.
