Michigan - Ohio State.....

How could losing the championship game be "humiliation"?

It isn’t unless you’re an OSU supporter and you lose the National Championship game to michigan. That is a the worst possible form of humiliation an OSU player, coach, alumni or fan could experience.

Losing a national championship game to anyone else would be like we’re disappointed we lost but proud of our guys for getting there.

But losing to michigan in a national championship game? The shame…the horror.

Michigan was beatable. I knew that was going to happen. I don't like to see it happen but I've been a Michigan fan far too long to expect anything else in big games.

I am still absolutely furious about the two non targeting calls in both games. Now I’m speaking as a professional in a safety related field and not a football fan but the degree of incompetence by the NCAA and their lip service to protecting players from traumatic brain injuries is just beyond incompetent.

In fact the reversal of the targeting call, in the OSU/UGA game tacitly undermined the very safety goals the rule was written for in the first place.

This sort of idiotic cheese pairing in regards to safety rules in football has to stop or OSHA needs to step in.

All I know is that I have greatly enjoyed watching the bowl games this season. These kids are playing their tails off. There have been some great games. Finishing watching Tennessee and Clemson. Seems like Tennessee has the upperhand at the moment but it’s been a great game. That Shipley kid for Clemson … in the medical tent right after a touchdown, coming out to run the two point conversion then going back in to be evaluated. I love stuff like that.

I hear you! Usually I love bowl season but I find little enjoyment in most of the games now. With the combination of the transfer portal (kids declaring before the bowl game and thus not playing) and kids just sitting out the game, many of the teams are just shells of their regular season self. So it's still football of course which is great, but it's just not the same.

More info to show you are absolutely wrong about private schools not getting in.

2 private schools have made the playoffs since it began in 2014. TCU and Notre Dame. That is 18% of the private schools in the Power 5 (+Notre Dame).
12 public schools in the Power 5 have made the playoffs in that same time. That is 21% of the public schools in the Power 5.

That is hardly the difference you implied.

Yep. TCU is a school with 10K undergrad students. They've had some periodic success recently but aren't going to be on anyone's list of blue bloods or national powers. And yet they reached the Championship game when the sports blue bloods - Alabama, Notre Dame, USC, Ohio State and Oklahoma couldn't. And staying in the state of Texas, look at the money and N.I.L. power Univ of Texas has compared to TCU and how did the Longhorns do?

You sound like a Brown's fan blaming the Refs

I don't know much about TCU. But I know they came to play last night.

I only got to see the Highlights on Youtube at the end of the game, but both teams were awesome and both quarterbacks were extra awesome.

Someone had to lose! Congrats to TCU! I would like to see Sonny's name in the hat for Coach Of The Year.
