Mike Johnson States Goal to "Blowtorch" Government by 75%

Oh bullcorn. Biden invited a surge to the border during the primary debates and then reversed President Trump's border policy. You're either lying, uninformed or both.

So reducing the number of departments just makes the remaining departments bigger and less manageable? Wouldn't it be better to have a larger number of smaller departments, making it easier for the heads of the department to understand what is happening?
No, reducing the number of large departments that are truly worthless and or are a financial nightmare for the average American
taxpayer will not be missed. I agree that having a larger number of small departments who are not being controlled by big government agencies is a good thing.

Reducing the number of departments that do the same amount of work just means that there will be more waste. Cutting the staff from historic lows(as a percent of outlays) just means there will be more waste. You need to cut the outlays to do anything.

That means you need to cut Social Security, Medicare, infrastructure, Defense, and law enforcement. And I mean to the bone.

No, Trump isn't going to cut social security, medicare or defense. You're probably more up on the who or what is
getting wasted than I am, but Trump has a pretty record of cutting the waste from our government during his first
term when he was a rookie in picking his administration staff. We'll just have to wait and see what happens with
his new administration that all seem to be perfect picks.

trump increased the deficit by a record amount. he uses his failure against Covid as an excuse, but even before that he was increasing the deficit by a disturbing amount. trump claimed the economy was going great, so why did he need to increase the deficit by so much?

We will wait and see what the clown show brings us, but I doubt it will be good.

COVID was the #1 reason that the deficit rose under Trump's first term. And biden rose the deficit by a huge amount, and
on a side note, more people in America died from COVID during biden's term then they did during Trump's term. COVID
and or similar flues will at times hit America and or other nations unexpectedly, so regardless who's potus at that time, the economy is going to take a huge hit, which means the deficit will also substantially rise due to the spending needed to cure that particular disease. Biden increased inflation to record levels. Why did he need to increase inflation by so much to around 9% when he received Trump's inflation rate at around 1.8%?

I knew you were going to blame Covid. You realize both presidents had to deal with Covid, so why is it only an out for trump?

The fact is that trump was running up a disturbing deficit long before the Covid failure.

Why did he need to increase inflation by so much to around 9% when he received Trump's inflation rate at around 1.8%?
Two thirds of the inflation rate was problem was already there when Biden came to office. The rest was caused by Biden. He solved the problem, which trump will now reverse.

Good start. Keep reading.

No thank you. I worked full time for 49 years before fully retiring this past April. I had to do a crap ton of reading and research to keep current with technical developments and government regulations, a good deal of it boring and distasteful.

Today, I still do a lot of reading and research, all on subjects that fascinate me and bring me enjoyment. I don't have the time or the interest in this kind of stuff to go on a scavenger hunt that is going to bore and disappoint me in its mediocrity.

Just give me a couple of links that I can go to, and I promise to comment on that information objectively.

Let's just say that Musk took full advantage of the Obama and then Biden policies that allocated money for EV research and design. That is common knowledge at this point.
