Mitt Romney’s Fair Share

then tomorrow will be more of today....

More of what? You being a weirdo with creepy avatars? Whining about how you're not a you-know-what and demonstrating your Christianity by calling me a cunt? Bring it, retard. Your willingness to look stupid only gets funnier the longer you belabour this "injustice" you suffered.

:rofl2:

I must admit this pretty much sums up how I feel about the Mormons.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a business more than a religion. The church organization, or company as I will refer to it at times in this article, brings in more than $20 billion annually from its member donation, sales and over 100 companies they are directly a part of. As with many successful companies, they put a majority of that money back into the business through funding missionaries and their training (to recruit new members), sustaining 18+ radio stations and constructing new facilities (14 new temples are currently in the works). While their statistics for new members are impressive (over 300,000 each year for the past decade), one has to wonder if their techniques to gain new members and the fulfillment of the inflated expectations of those new members are moral. With all the new members that are signed up to the church by missionaries each year, they are fed information that is partly correct, but also not the whole story. It is very similar to a new car advertisement on television. They will show the car racing through the streets without any other cars on the road, rave about the gas mileage (which cannot be obtained by driving the way they just demonstrated), and how you can get it for 1.99% financing and less than $300 a month. The truth of the matter is it will get 25% less fuel economy than they post (because no one drives 50 mph on the highway needed to get those numbers) and unless you have a credit score of 720+, you will not get anything close to that interest rate or a payment even below $400 a month. The Mormon "business" is very similar. The missionaries paint this terrific this picture of everyone abstaining from tobacco, alcohol, etc. and a very clean-cut image of the average member. The idea of eternal marriage and happiness is stressed beyond belief in their initial discussions. After three visits, you will be asked to join the church and agree to all their regulations. How can the span of a few weeks (or even shorter) be enough time to research enough about a religion, I mean business, and commit to their rules, which you don't know a majority of them?

Yet, with all these promises of a fabulous, simple life through the church, only 46% of members attend church services even once per month! As a former member, I would suggest some of the reasons a lot of people don't go regularly is they didn't go to church services regularly before they were LDS, they have done things against the regulations of the church and don't want to face scrutiny, have better things to do for a majority of Sundays, and find the services to be about as interesting as the average church service - not very.

Another point that needs some analysis is the subject of tithing. While donating to worthwhile causes is a great thing and good use of money, requiring 10% from families that may not have 10% to really spare in their lives is unrealistic. The idea is that donating money to the Mormon business will bring money and fortune (non-monetary) to you and your family, almost a "pay it forward" concept. Donating this 10% for your entire life can have a major effect on your financial position when you retire. If a family only has the 10% to spare each month (because ideally the wife would not work and exclusively take care of the kids and help inside the church) and put that towards tithing, they would be living month-to-month, not accomplishing anything towards the future. If they invested that 10%, they could retire a millionaire with ease and live comfortably in their elder years. This is not the case for every Mormon family, but there are many who are pressured or convinced to tithe 10%, when they don't really have that money to spare.

Membership is expected to grow to over 23 million over the next 20 years, which is a scary thought for all the people who have researched the business, found obvious holes in the concepts, and wish it would fade away as more and more people know the facts. The future of the church from a financial standpoint is very strong and will likely continue for a long time. Members will continue to sign up, thinking this religion will transform their lives and allow them to live forever because they carried out God's work during their time on Earth. Attendance numbers will remain low because of how the church is constructed, but in a business it is all about numbers. At the end of the day, the business known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a very profitable and successful business.

Haha, good one, Tom. You said "ridiculous" to a post responding to a ridiculous post! :hand:

I have it on good authority that the host of the Colbert Report is a Catholic. Does that mean the Report is a Catholic programme?

How many bishops or priests in the Catholic Church are CEOs or own large corporations? Does the Pope shit in the woods?

Good morning, slut......did you sleep well?

Most Americans don’t begrudge Mitt Romney his wealth, estimated in the neighborhood of $250 million. His entrepreneurship is an American success story.

But voters also want to know why this fantastically rich seeker of the presidency is being so secretive about his tax payments and how he made his money.

Does he have something to hide?

If everything in his tax returns is above reproach, why won’t Romney follow the bipartisan tradition...?

Of course he has something to hide. Silver spectacles with magic stones as lenses. I wanna pair of those. Sign me up, Magic underpants Man...SIGN ME UP>

Try and follow what the retards have been saying. They were talking about lay people giving money to their respective church or Church. If I, as a Catholic, give money to any cause, it can now be labeled as "operating off of Catholic funds," according to Rijou and Bana.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a business more than a religion....

FINE! It's a business who takes 100% of the money people voluntarily donate to it, and uses it to help millions of people in developing countries. A business that provides villages with clean water and nutritional food which it grows and cans from it's own farms. A business that provides wheelchairs to the handicapped and helps little babies in distress, along with their families. A business who helps prevent people from going blind. A business who responds to natural disasters faster than the Red Cross. A business that operates more efficiently than the Salvation Army, with thousands of volunteer 'employees' worldwide. And a business which is a tax-exempt non-profit charity organization operated by a Church.

So are they "EVIL" because they are a 'business' or a 'church?'

Hamas and Hezbollah do a lot of charity work as well. The primary motivation of the LDS is to recruit new members else why would they send over 53,000 shiny faced volunteers all over the world to knock on people's doors? Their greatest coup would be to get one of their own in the White House.

You've raised Hamas and Hezbollah before, but you couldn't name any actual 'charity work' they had done. Besides, the sheer number of people they've beheaded while praising Allah, sort of nullifies the 'good deeds' they may have done. Mormons don't have nearly as many suicide bombers or death squads. Oh, and LDS has been providing their services to countries in distress and people in need for decades, and not ONCE have they done so under the prerequisite of becoming a Mormon or listening to a sermon.

Again... are they "EVIL" because they are a 'business' or is it because they are a 'church?'

So when they send disaster relief faster than the Red Cross to people in dire need... this is so they can recruit them to be Mormons?

When they provide someone who is indigent with a free wheelchair, that is only done so they can recruit them to be Mormons?

When they feed the hungry and provide clean water, it's so they can recruit them to be Mormons?

When they help prevent blindness or save a little baby's life, it's so they can turn them into Mormons?

:Googler:They're doing it in the ME, not here. The US considers them terrorist organization, you really think we would talk up their good works?

"The small clinic on the edge of one of the Gaza Strip's biggest refugee camps is one of hundreds of medical centers, food banks, summer camps and schools across the West Bank and Gaza operated by Islamic charities, many of them linked to the Islamic Resistance Movement, better known by its Arabic acronym Hamas."

http://articles.latimes.com/2006/mar/02/world/fg-charity2

"Hezbollah fighters move like shadows across the mountains of southern Lebanon; its workers in towns and villages, equally as ghostly, have settled deeply into people’s lives.

They cover medical bills, offer health insurance, pay school fees and make seed money available for small businesses. They are invisible but omnipresent, providing essential services that the Lebanese government through years of war was incapable of offering."

Okay, but again... LDS has given aid in over 167 countries around the world, including Muslim countries. They don't discriminate based on people's religious beliefs or geographical region. They also don't fund suicide bombers and make car bombs, or believe Jews should be run into the Mediterranean Sea. And curiously enough, liberals seem to be perfectly FINE with the 'business' Hezbollah and Hamas are doing, while spewing hate and revile for the work of the Mormons.

Perhaps the Dix would like to claim that these folks are "liberals"...

From a "Christian" website:

Almost everyone knows to beware of the Jehovah’s Witness; but, the Mormons are different, they lure people in by claiming to be a Christian organization, and by their claim to be family oriented, and their friendly masquerade of kindness and love. Keep in mind they only "claim" to be a Christian organization.

The reason they say this is because they think that if you believe in Christ then you are a Christian, when in fact this is not true at all, because Satan and his demons believe in Christ, but that does not make them Christians now does it. They claim this while secretly in there (sic) doctrine the call our Christian churches the whore of Babylon, and Christian preachers, heretic disciples of Satan.

They believe that we are the occult and not them. The Mormons are very powerful in the world today and have Power because of their wealth. The Marriott Hotel chain is owned by the Mormon Church, and there is Mormon Literature in every room.

Mormons are very affluent with the dead. They claim to be visited regularly by dead family members. They are being deceived By demons. They actually believe that through prayer, these people can receive salvation even in death. They associate very much with the dead. The Pastor of the First Satanic Church, and the author of the Satanic Bible, is Anton LaVey. In his Satanic Bible, LaVey lists, under "In fernal Names," one of them as "Mormo," which is the God of the living dead, and the king of the Ghouls.

The followers of Mormo, are called Mormons. Take that and chew on it a while. Coincidence? I don’t think so. The Mormon Church is the owner of the largest Genealogy center in the world, and they deal directly with the dead ancestors of the living. Mormon missionaries have had a hard time witnessing in China, and it is not because of it’s communists rule. It is because the word Mormon in Chinese means Gates of Hell.

Now let me give you a little History on the Mormon Church. In 1821 a young treasure seeker named Joseph Smith claimed to have had a vision from God. First he said it was from Jesus, then he said from Jesus and many angels, and then he said that it was from Jesus and God the Father. This is what they go by today. Mormons claim that Joseph Smith was visited by Jesus and God the father; but the Bible tells us that no man can look upon the face of God and live. He was also visited by a so-called angel named Moroni, who supposedly told him about a secret manuscript, written on golden plates, telling the true Gospel.

And that he was to translate this into the Book of Mormon. Let me truly begin here and tell you what they believe. They believe that long ago from an unknown god ,and goddess, was born a man named Elohim who was later born to human parents, and he lived his life and became a god like his father. He is also claimed to have fathered many children. Two of them in particular are named: one is Jesus, and the other is Lucifer.

They decided to put all of Elohim’s many children on a planet, and that the planet needed a savior the bid, for it came down to Jesus and to Lucifer. But Jesus won out because he had unselfish reasons. But then Lucifer revolted and turned many of Elohim’s children against him, and they were banished to the earth, never to have physical bodies. The people who were on the side of Jesus were very light skinned. And the people who remained neutral in the battle, their skinned turned black and this is the Mormon explanation for the black race. Mormons believe after that battle, the people were sent to Earth, and Elohim came to earth, and had sex with Mary, and that is how Jesus came to Earth.

They also believe that Jesus took three wives while on Earth: Mary, Martha, and Mary Magdalene. They also believe that Jesus fathered many Children during his time on Earth, and that Joseph Smith their founder was a direct descendant of Jesus. They believe that after a life of Mormonism and a Mormon marriage has taken place, that when they die they will become gods too. They also believe that they will have their own planet, and many goddess wives, and their job for eternity will be to populate the planets. I know how far fetched this all sounds, but these people actually believe this mess.

Mormonism is a sex cult. And we never would have guessed any of this from those sweet family-oriented Mormon commercials on TV.
