The line of Range Rovers, BMWs, Porsche roadsters and one gleaming cherry red Ferrari began queuing outside of Revlon Chairman Ronald Perelman's estate off Montauk Highway long before Romney arrived, as campaign aides and staffers in white polo shirts emblazoned with the logo of Perelman's property -- the Creeks -- checked off names under tight security.

They came with high hopes for the presumed Republican nominee, who is locked in a tight race with President Obama. And some were eager to give the candidate some advice about the next four months.

A money manager in a green Jeep said it was time for Romney to "up his game and be more reactive." So far, said the donor (who would not give his name because he said it would hurt his business), Romney has had a "very timid offense."

A New York City donor a few cars back, who also would not give her name, said Romney needed to do a better job connecting. "I don't think the common person is getting it," she said from the passenger seat of a Range Rover stamped with East Hampton beach permits. "Nobody understands why Obama is hurting them.

"We've got the message," she added. "But my college kid, the baby sitters, the nails ladies -- everybody who's got the right to vote -- they don't understand what's going on. I just think if you're lower income -- one, you're not as educated, two, they don't understand how it works, they don't understand how the systems work, they don't understand the impact."

So you have three kinds of people who vote Republican. These people - the Mitzie's and the Tawd's whining about their servants having the right to vote. Then you have those who are making a solidly upper middle class living, six figures, who are living that infamous life of quiet desperation and Visa/Mastercarding themselves into a coma in sad attempts to bury their insecurities: "look what i have look at what I have" while hitting the scotch by 5 pm every day so they can get themselves numb enough to fuck their spouses.

And then you have the trash. We have plenty of em posting here, though thankfully fewer than in the past. Those scraping by on lower incomes, barely hanging onto the lower middle class, if not slipping right out of it. These sad sacks remind me of those loons who post on Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston stories. Everyone who has ever read the Huffpo knows not to comment on those stories, where there is no such thing as an innocent comment. True nutbirds who believe that Angie or Jenn are reading their comments and nodding approvingly. Or maybe calling over Chelsea Chandler or Brad himself - honey look at what this woman said in my defense on the internet! Isn't she clever?! I am convinced these same mental patients are posting on politics and slavishly subjugating themselves to the rich, believing that somewhere, Mitize is calling Tawd over from his Polo practice - Tawd, look at what this commoner said about people like us on the internet! Isn't he clever? Why, if they were all like this I wouldnt' even mind the beasts being permitted to vote!

Uhm, you don't elbow much with the upper crust do you? It's not about political affiliation. It's about this sense of entitlement because you're a member of a wealthy family. Most of whom did nothing to produce that wealth but either were born into it or married into it.

It aint about money. It's about a small group of people who feel entitled to political representation and have this condescending attitude that we of the lower economic classes are to imbicilic to really unsterstand the process and thus shouldn't have political representation.

I think "this cat" might have come from Mark Twain... or was that "hanging out with?" I can't recall... it is old though, for sure.

Nothing like Tom Jones, hate to disappoint. I am more like a younger Bob Dylan or Jerry Garcia, but better looking. No chains or jewelry though. Sorry.

No, not just Libertarians. There are plenty of teabaggers who are white gun hoarders too. Although you guys all look alike to me so for all I know there is no such thing as a "libertarian" and you're all teabagging Republicans.
