Newton actually described why some objects fall, and others don't, even though they are in the same gravity field.
Other examples of objects staying suspended or even rising (increasing the value of 'r' in the below equation) in a gravity field were created in Paris and in the United States.

Gravity is an attractive force, and Newton showed how much force it creates using the equation F=G * (m1*m2)/r^2, where 'G' is the 'gravitational constant' used to convert the relation to our units of measurement, 'm1' and 'm2' are the two masses being attracted to each other, and 'r' is the distance between them.

Objects that rise in the gravity field are hot air balloons, flying birds, aircraft, fish, ships including submarines, the Moon, etc.

Therefore, objects do NOT necessarily fall due to gravity at all.
