America is, has always been, and will always be a shooting gallery.

The way our government is set up, rural conservatives are wildly overrepresented in government relative to their percentage of the population,
and rural Americans essentially agree to no firearms restrictions whatsoever.

Our brightest and best just don't make the rules.
The lowest common denominator of our population make the rules.
That's why they love our constitution. The obsolete constitution gives us a piece-of-shit system of government that ignorant shitkickers love.

The Great American Divide isn't a political schism. Politics change as life changes.
The Great American Divide is a Socio-Culture War, and cultural differences endure indefinitely.

The United States of America as a world political entity works well for socially regressive uneducated caucasians in Red State America.
The West Coast and the Northeast financially support parasitic Middle America but are completely incompatible, from a cultural standpoint, with flyover country.

Maybe America still works, but not for fully evolved and sophisticated Americans.
We need out.
California, Oregon, and Washington need to become the Pacific States of America.
The Northeast must become the Atlantic States of America.
Flyover country can remain "United," but just not with us.
They can keep their beloved 1788 constitution while we belatedly join the Third Millennium.
 
If we were to leave the guns laws the way they are--
not necessarily because that's a good idea
but rather because we can't seem to do a fucking thing about it--
isn't there something else that could work?

Suppose the lethal injecting of gun crime convicts were recorded and shown in all public schools
for kids to see in their formative years;
the kids would realize that committing a gun crime should only be considered at a time when the shooter was tired of being alive.

We're not talking about kids having to watch anything gross.
Seeing somebody first anesthetized and then euthanized is nothing compared to the violence that they routinely see on TV.

We can't change the gun laws, but we can let the violent shooters help the kids by showing them the concept of consequence.

I own nine firearms and have, unfortunately and sickeningly, indeed actually shot people under the coercion of our government.
It was with one of those guns, an M16, that people want banned.
But it sure as fuck wasn't mine.

I don't and wouldn't own that kind of weapon,
and I've never aimed one of my own firearms at a living creature.
I do eat meat, I'm a little ashamed to say, but I don't do my own wet work.

Like our friend Arby, I haven't shot anyone in the past four or five decades, however..

I own an M1-A (I bought it a year and a half ago). I shoot it occasionally, but
used an M-1 Garand for competitions. I can raise as much hell with the Garand
as I can with the M1-A. Why are you ashamed to admit eating meat? Yep, as a
successful hunter, I do my own "wet work"

my pool team and he slurred "Arrr Beee" and we all laughed. So I started using it as
a screen name, but I used Arby in another forum as you well know. What's the big deal?

What the stupids need to worry about catching in America is .270 bullets.

Go ahead and compare them little fucking M16 bullets to a BAR in .270, which there is a LOT of out there in America.

It's like the Good Old Boy secret.

PS: That .270 is more accurate for a longer range and hits a fuckton harder.

.270 is considered the best hunting round ever. Where 30-.06 drops 4 inches? .270 drops not much.

My '06 hits harder than my .270. It's just as accurate and cost 1/3 what the .270 is worth.
