Is McDonald’s healthy for dogs? In general, McDonald’s is not a healthy option for dogs. Most foods at McDonald’s are higher in fat, carbs, or salt than are ideal for canines. They should have a diet high in protein and moderate in fat, and their “plant food” should include a variety of whole grains and healthy vegetables to help them get all the necessary nutrients. Food made for dogs is balanced to meet all their nutritional needs.

Trump’s staged visit on Sunday to a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania highlights the longest period without a national increase in the federal minimum wage since it was established in 1938.

After briefly manning a McDonald’s fry station, Trump punted when asked by a reporter if he’s in favor of lifting the minimum wage.

“Well, I think this: I think these people work hard, they’re great, and I just saw something, the process. It’s beautiful. It’s a beautiful thing to see,” Trump said. “These are great franchises, they produce a lot of jobs.”

Michael Reich, chair of the Center on Wage and Employment Dynamics at the University of California at Berkeley, told CNN it’s very possible to boost the minimum wage without killing jobs.

“The reason is political. It’s not economics,” Reich said of the record-long period of time without a federal minimum wage increase. “It’s part of the political polarization.”

Reich, who has testified before Congress on the minimum wage, said there’s no question the federal minimum wage is not a livable wage.

The minimum wage has always gone up by miniscule amounts. The economy and jobs fluctuate and it doesn't seem, to me at least, how these low numbers could kill the economy. It makes me understand how farmers would suffer if they could no longer hire migrants. I don't know if migrants even get a minimum wage. This is the longest stretch of time the minimum hasn't increased.
