You don't have to be successful, in order to be convicted of obstruction. Just as a drug dealer often gets convicted of conspiracy, solely for discussing a drug transaction.

You’re either forgetting or ignoring the political aspect.

Democrats will struggle mightily in the court of public opinion if Mueller charges Trump with obstruction, when it turns out Trump was correct in labeling a witch hunt.

Democrats need to prove collusion or the politics will come back to bite them. Assuming Mueller can prove Trump obstructed—which is hardly a slam dunk.

Nunes isn’t done throwing his monkey wrenches though lol. Trump or even politics aside, with a little luck we can see some much needed house cleaning in getting rid of political hacks in some of these alphabet agencies.

To your point, it’s hard to know how much attention is being paid by the average voter and/or how much their opinions are swayed by the ‘noise’.

the noise drowns out messages on passing legislation-after he comes back with process crimes.
House cleaning is great, but the clock ticks away on the admin, and miderms come up
with a bunch more noise to drown out positive messaging

Given that he's failed at almost everything he's ever touched, the fact that the obstruction didn't work isn't a surprise. But...attempting to do so is still a crime.

Collusion by the campaign is already in the bag. See trump tower meeting with Russian spies. Remember...the collusion investigation was aimed at the campaign. The fact that trump attempted to obstruct that investigation, is problematic.

What do you tell independent voters who sees absolutely no distinction between meeting Russians who *offer* campaign dirt and *paying* Russians for campaign dirt?

Actually, they’re liable to see a big distinction between the two.

There are none. There are Nazis who never vote, but were inspired to vote for the Arian trump. Most Indies, like myself, and the hordes of Millenials, are capable of discerning fact from nonsense.

Let's not forget that we don't know everything Mueller has regarding the trump tower meeting. And..we might just find out that there are other occurrences of collusion.
