My car just got PWNed by an F-150

Yeah, I have horrible short-term memory, so driving can be quite an adventure to me. I will try to go places that are programed into my head from memory, even when I need to go someplace different. Luckily this hasn't caught up to me yet. My shitty car just cost me $2000 though, because the air suspension system gave out and it had to be converted over to struts/mechanical (cheaper, and the air kit is becoming absolete).

Yeah, sometimes I find myself half way to work before I realize that I wanted to go to the dentist. But I don't drive in front of trucks along the way.

I'm sure watermark is appreciating all the life lessons he's supposedly learned from this and how now he is a better person. Posts from people on the internet about how this is all about life and growing as a human must make him feel a lot better about losing five thousand dollars. well played.

I try not to drive in front of trucks along the way. It only happens, like, once ever 0.1% of the times I go up there.

Well if anyone would've died it would've been me. Apparently, I pulled out in a way that gave him enough time to break and not hit me at the 50 mile an hour speed limit in the area. It was a side impact crash, and he hit the side I was driving on. A 50 mile an hour f-150 vs. the driver side of a ford escort... not a pretty picture.

I was glad that the driver of the other vehicle wasn't one of those hot headed types. The accident was completely my fault, though. His car was barely even scratched.

I was honestly surprised that they didn't put me in jail. I thought driving on a permit was a more serious offense, but, apparently, it's more like a speeding ticket. The officer seemed to think my biggest concern would be delaying getting my license, and a possible fine (which we can't afford).

I said it was totaled because my dad did. Afterward I realized, he hadn't even looked at it, still hasn't, and I assume was just making shit up because he was so anxious to give away the parts to his stupid friends. Not even sell the shit to pay off our debt. Just give them the fuck away.

That's good. Hopefully your frame is still intact. Have you had that checked out? You'll probably also need a wheel alignment -- not probably, you will need a wheel alignment. Fortunately that's not expensive. You can probably get a new door at a wrecking yard if there's one close enough. So I'm assuming that the guy in the truck was able to brake fairly effectively, and didn't T-bone you too hard then!

It sounds as if your Dad just needs a little time to cool down. He might also be a bit scared that you were so close to being seriously hurt.

Yeah I just talked to him. I was mostly angry due to the pot of coffee I just drank.

I'm pretty lucky to be alive. Not many people survive driver side impacts by huge trucks on highways.

(Though, admittedly, the speed limit on the highway was pretty low, since it was in town.)
