My LDS Mormon friends say this about Trump

Some of my Mormon friends have told me that Ether 8:25 (Book of Mormon) says secret combinations cause “the destruction of all people.” Not just wicked nations, all people who tolerate them. When good men stay silent, evil thrives in plain sight. The greatest danger isn’t what’s hidden, it’s what’s accepted.

They think Trump is the leader of a great secret combination to overthrow American freedom and religious liberty.

I hope they are wrong about Trump, but one has to wonder.
My LDS friends voted for him and are Trump supporters. Methinks your friends are using select verses to confirm their bias, while mine are doing the same. However, your random Mormon friends are definitely not the majority of the LDS Church which, by their votes, seem to support Trump.

They weren't in the last election, but I am very curious to see how much ground they gain next year.

I always thought that the Antichrist foretold in the Book of Revelation would somehow be more attractive, more intelligent, more worth taking a second look at. Wrong!

I don't think I argued that point. The LDS, though, have been decreasing in % of population in Utah, and there has been in my view a shifting toward the center for the more professional and academic LDS.

These are statistics from Dr. Jacob Rugh analyzing the vote in 2024 in Provo, Utah. More LDS, more suburban, more college-educated voters swung left in 2024.

I am hearing more conservative Mormon friends saying the same thing.

Mormons are weird. Their religion is weird.
You're thinking of warmizombies. He wrote "Mormons."

None of their scriptural predictions mean anything.
That's what I'm saying. Climate scripture is gibberish.

No different than ...
No different from ...

... any other prediction based on religious scripture.
Like the world is going to end in catastrophic Global Warming in 30 years, or at the end of the century, or from catastrophic Climate Change in 30 years, or at the end of the century, or after we reach the "tipping point" ... although it might already be too late ... or the world will end in a great flood when the sea waters prevail 15 cubits from sea level rise, even though there is no discernible sea level rise, because the ocean is only turning into battery acid, although ocean pH hasn't changed discernibly since the Navy Research Labs started monitoring decades ago, and ocean alkalinity hasn't changed discernibly either, and erosion continues to drive millions of tons of carbonates and bicarbonates into the ocean every day (increasing alkalinity), ...

... the religious scripture is gibberish.

Nope. Definitely Mormons. The Garden of Eden is in Missouri. If you're a really good Mormon male, you can be God of your own planet. God literally had sex with Mary....

Stuff like that.

Just an additional layer of the crazy of Christians.

If you had been able to read English for comprehension, you'd would have known that religion is the topic of the thread.

or Mormons
I was talking about your nutcase warmizombie congregation. Talk about extreme, fanatical scientific illiteracy! Wow, now that's a cult!

or are you planning to continue deflecting and redirecting?
I see that you are still deflecting and redirecting. What gives? Can't you stay on topic for even just a moment?
