Oohh, this is my favorite. Where conservatives complain that Bush isn't really conservative and his administration isn't really a conservative administration in action. Kind of like the communists complaining that a real communist government hasn't been tried.

More like a libertarian complaining that there has never been a libertarian government.

Wanting to pass anti-gay legislation is not a conservative value, it is a radical change to laws. The whole idea of "social conservative" meaning "religious right" is a misnomer. And a sad, sad attempt to SS change is no evidence of "conservative" either.

Dude spent money like it was going out of style, definitely not a "conservative" thing. Nor is an unconstitutional grab at running the schools from the federal government. Nor is the "ignore the border" policy, or free amnesty for illegals.

We can go round and round on it, but I have been telling people that this is no "conservative", that it was some other kind of animal pretty much since he was elected.

I always love the people that point to "SS Reform" and say "See! That's a conservative!" That and tax cuts is about all ya got.

So you're essentially saying that the Republican party is not conservative. After all, it wasn't just Bush that did all that you are complaining about. He did it with the full backing and support of the "conservative" Republican party. They may talk a big game, but when push comes to shove, what you have under Bush is conservatives in action.

For years the Libertarians have been saying the Republican party isn't conservative.

Not my way it isn't. And yes, I am basically saying that the description of "conservative" is sad. This guy especially goes off in a direction that isn't even making most republicans happy.

Yep the republicans in power are pretty much still backing Bush. It was not just Bush....
