My thoughts on the recent SCOTUS decision.

It's Just Boris!
I work in an industry (Passenger Transport) where I have to be a union member. Now, before anyone says anything, allow me to state that PUBLIC SECTOR unions are still leeches on taxpayers and need to be abolished. There are better ways to handle the rank and file on that end. As to private sector unions? Fine as long as they don't interfere with my politics! Just do your damned jobs and keep your noses out of my political life!

Translation: I'm a Taxi Driver. I like that my Union got me higher wages, but I don't like paying the Dues.

As long as the dues aren't being funneled to the Democrat party, then it's no problem. Oh, and the vehicle I drive? Much larger than a taxi.
 
Unions won vacations, health care, better and safer working conditions, higher wages, retirements and protections from ruthless bosses. All those things are being chopped away as unions fade. The Roberts court is the most pro corporate, anti worker in history. that is what the trumpies wanted.,more of the same. The people will suffer .

They are being chopped away at because unions let them be chopped away at. The unions cave to avoid strikes. They just want their members' dues money, and could care less about their members.

Not true. Problem is unions have dissension. \They did not jump behind hillary last election because much of their membership was seduced by Trump lies. They are not homogeneous. They are not even pro Dem in many cases. But they are pro worker. they do fight for workers rights in the workplace However unions have the worst press imaginable. . You never read or hear a positive story about them. The people of today have had a lifetime of hearing about how evil unions are. When I talk to young people at my health club, they know they don't like unions, but they cannot tell you why. Propaganda works.

I didn't say a word about pro-Clinton or Trump. If unions were relevant, they wouldn't be filled with declining membership roles filled with dissension.

My argument against Public sector Unions is that it sets up a conflict of interest. Unions with the power of their money can get dishonest politicians elected who will then kowtow to their every interest which is why so many cities find themselves in financial trouble.

The courts have trimmed back union powers for decades. The rules for organizing have been ruined too. Now the dues thing which has been fought before has gone right. Unions have been deliberately and actually attacked successfully for a long time. The Roberts court is the most pro Corporation anti worker in history. This decision is no shocker.

It is no shocker, but it is the correct decision. I am all for unions on a free association basis. Those who do not want to associate with them, shouldn't have to. Want to get young people to join, build a members only gaming lounge in the union hall. Be relevant.
 
A conservative SCOTUS is simply the legislative branch of the oligarchs, the corporatist, and the powerful over the working class. Some people still think law is blind.

So you gladly enjoy the benefits of what unions do but you don't want to pay for that nor do you want those unions to do anything in the political sphere that will benefit you because you are have been indoctrinated to hate the Democratic party
