My thoughts on the recent SCOTUS decision.

My argument against Public sector Unions is that it sets up a conflict of interest. Unions with the power of their money can get dishonest politicians elected who will then kowtow to their every interest which is why so many cities find themselves in financial trouble.

^^^^^^THAT^^^^^^

I work in an industry (Passenger Transport) where I have to be a union member. Now, before anyone says anything, allow me to state that PUBLIC SECTOR unions are still leeches on taxpayers and need to be abolished. There are better ways to handle the rank and file on that end. As to private sector unions? Fine as long as they don't interfere with my politics! Just do your damned jobs and keep your noses out of my political life!

abolish! abolish! abolish!

So you gladly enjoy the benefits of what unions do but you don't want to pay for that nor do you want those unions to do anything in the political sphere that will benefit you because you are have been indoctrinated to hate the Democratic party

I believe that pretty well sums up the position of Boris the Animal.

A conservative SCOTUS is simply the legislative branch of the oligarchs, the corporatist, and the powerful over the working class. Some people still think law is blind.

"Few American institutions have inflicted greater suffering on ordinary people than the Supreme Court of the United States. Since its inception, the justices of the Supreme Court have shaped a nation where children toiled in coal mines, where Americans could be forced into camps because of their race, and where a woman could be sterilized against her will by state law."

The Supreme Court did not initiate any of these actions. They were legislative acts passed under FDR and state legislatures.

IF I am forced to vote a certain way then yes, the union is tyrannical.

This decision was a thorough attack on unions. Not only did it allow employees to opt out of paying union dues for the protections they get, but the courts tossed in a couple more body blows.

Now a hire has to opt in to union membership. before, you were a default member and could opt out.

They also stopped a single union from a work place. Now there can be several; at the same place. Why? Now each union would be smaller and weaker. They would be competing with each other.

This was a plot to destroy public unions.

Public unions should stop fighting for and representing those who choose not to join. Cut them loose and see how it works out on their own.

He didn't say that the Supreme Court initiated any of those. He said they "shaped a nation" where such things could happen.

How did the Supreme Court shape the nation to allow Japanese to be placed in internment camps? They had been expanding free speech by striking down laws punishing people for urging overthrow of the government. This is shaping the nation in the opposite direction.

They do not stay out of your political life. I know of no Union that doesn't wade into those dark waters.

unions are democracy in action. Their leaders are picked by popular vote, The union people have a say in all that the union does. The leadership has open forums to discuss the plans.

Then why do they FORCE the rank and file to vote a certain way (Leftist-Communist)?
