I am liberal, and I agree that nuclear power is a promising answer to reducing emissions.
The way to do it is with Traveling Wave Reactors.
These are safe.
They don't require auxiliary power for cooling and cannot melt down. They also use as their fuel, the spent fuel from existing old nuclear technology. Thus, it solves two huge problems.
If we want a great source of green power, this is IT. And this is how we deal with spent nuclear fuel from old style reactors.

I would not say they "suck", I would just say they are illinformed, or the propaganda has left them mindless.
I vote neither Democrat, nor Republican, so I can agree with any things. I oppose abortions, homosexuality as a "minority", transgenders period. I also oppose income inequality, useless wars, the border wall preferring to use technology, tax breaks for the wealthiest of Americans who are most often the ones that pay the cheapest wages, and no taxes.
If I actually gave it some thought I could come up with more, however, these will do for now.
I consider Ann Coulter to be a significant spokesperson for "the opposing side" of my general political position...

Why must everything be divided by, "sides?" Isn't that part of the problem? For example, yesterday, I saw a thread deriding Trump for "losing" a war. And it was the liberals doing it. Can't we even agree that ending wars, which we are not winning, is a good thing?

I'm not sure EXACTLY what the "opposing side" is. Are they they the terminally ignorant Trumptards that believe every lie that he feeds them? Or are they reasonably intelligent people who represent a different philosophy of how this country should be run? Two ENTIRELY DIFFERENT demographics.
Given that, there are a number of things a REASONABLE conservative and I would agree upon.
For the children, I think a strong family unit with two parents is preferable to a split family.
Nuclear power is just fine.
Strong schools and a good education is the key to success in life.
Equal treatment under the law for everyone.
Getting the national debt under control.
Getting the immigration situation straightened out.
There are many others, but that's a start. We might disagree on the mechanisms for the above, but not the philosophies.
Its been a while since the left has had an idea that i can get behind. Ill settle for agreeing with Obama that uncontrolled borders is a massive problem. Nobody wins with it. Its devistating to our minority citizens, its a huge public health problem, it hurts the homelands they are leaving and it is illegal.

I'm okay with the death penalty, as long as there are ways to ensure that the person we are about to deprive of his/her life is truly guilty.
I'm okay with reasonable gun ownership, particularly that "well-regulated" part mentioned in the 2nd Amendment.
I'm all for freedom of religion, as long as it goes hand-in-hand with freedom from religion.
Our military and our vets are awesome. Let's all do more to take care of them once they are out of the service.
