Nature Magazine - Citation Diversity Statements

I know it is weak to reply to my own thread, but this Richard Dawkins tweet jumped out at me.

I remember when Nature broke its long tradition of staying out of elections and endorsed Biden. Some people said at the time that it would politicize science. It feels like they are doubling down with these citation diversity statements, and what stands out to me is that the pushback is coming from people who are not right wingers.

More proof MAGAts are mammon-worshiping, White Nationalist atheists. Awesome!!!

Man you sure can dig up the controversial topics don’t you?

Newsflash sparky science has been politicized by your lefty friends for decades.

You love diversity so what are you complaining about? You have black friends and everything..

Yeah, I don’t know what that’s all about.

We all know there is a disparity in access to quality education in this country. And probably more so in the sciences. But that’s an entirely different issue than we’re seeing here. Very weird.
