Navy Aircraft Carrier to Be Named for Black Pearl Harbor Veteran

So a flagship named for a black man can't have prestige. That is so fucking racist I can't believe I'm hearing that kind of shit in the 21st century.

your problem is you only see race. What im iffy about is a flagship aircraft carrier named after a cook.

I wouldnt have a problem if it was named the Obama for example.

If I'm not mistaken medals and awards are not based a persons MOS. Are you telling me you would be ok if they named an aircraft carrier after a bomb loader? How about a plane captain. Nice try trying to hide your racism. Sick bastard.

Says the one that refuses to provide proof of his claims of service. Guess you can't provide what doesn't exist, boy.

you can give medals and awards to whoever you want. If I understand correctly theres only something like 20-30 Aircraft carriers at any given time right? So yes I am against bombs and plane captains to.

If you need to play the black card then name it the USS MLK or something.

So not only are you a closet racist you're also a snob. The purpose of naming a ship after someone is to honor their contributions to this country regardless of rank, job or ethnicity of the person.

After he proved his worth as an outstanding warrior, Socialist Lefty FDR sent him back to the mess hall. :palm:

Oh, so you're afraid to back up your claims. That's likely because you can't and you only want people to accept them because you said so.

I don't believe the claims of a 2nd class nigger like you. Your kind is known to lie.

Miller was working as a mess attendant on the battleship West Virginia the morning of Dec. 7, 1941, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. An alarm sounded, and as the ship drew heavy fire, Mr. Miller raced to assist the West Virginia’s fatally wounded commanding officer. He also fired a machine gun against enemy planes.

This sets a really dumb precedent. Carriers are named after Presidents. Presidents have the greatest impact on our society and our foreign policy so it seems appropriate.

Why name it after this guy over the hundreds of thousands of soldiers who have given their lives in defense of this country? What makes this mess attendant more of a hero than all who have fallen?

DUMB.

What the fuck does it matter what type ship is named after him? He is being honored for his valor and bravery under fire. Maybe if you had worn the uniform you might understand what courage truly is.

There were hundreds of thousands who fought with valor and bravery under fire. WTF does that have to do with anything? Are we going to name aircraft carriers after them too? Is it all about race with you people every damned day?

Sometimes you emote like an idiot. Yeah, anyone who disagrees with this must be a racist in willful idiot land.

You really shocked me! I would never expected a fellow conservative to be a racist. You nor I know the whole story but they don't hand out the Medal of Honor based on skin color. The man must have gone above and beyond the call of duty, for them to decide that his actions that day were worthy of the honor. Tell me TD did you wear the uniform and see combat?
