Navy Halts Move to Allow Gay Marriages

The Navy has abruptly reversed its decision to allow chaplains to perform same-sex marriages once the military's ban on openly gay service members is lifted, after dozens of House lawmakers complained.

..

But House members wrote to Navy Secretary Ray Mabus to object to the Navy's initial ruling, saying the service was violating the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act by appearing to recognize and support same-sex marriages. That law defines marriage as only between a man and a woman, and it also says states don't have to recognize gay marriages performed in other states where they are legal.

i wondered about that and how they could get around it....seems they can't

they decided it was a bigger lie to let the bravo deck moppers fornicate in sin

Topper, I think you have passed SM as the most obnoxious poster on these forums. The actual information you present is minimal, and the level of sophmoric hostility is over the top.

From what psychology classes I have had, I'd hazard a guess that you have a serious inferiority complex that has you ridiculing everything. It is easier for you to try and knock others down than to elevate yourself. And judging by your obsessive use of homosexual imagery, I'd say you are a latent homosexual. Which probably contributes to your self loathing.

i'm surprised the dems did not dismantle it when they had both houses. someone needs to challenge the law in court...and get it to scotus
