NBA Finals 2020

In addition to my usual hate for the Oklahomo Thunder, I am vehemently against Comrade James this year. Earlier today I caught bits of the Thunder losing to Houston, which was nice.

Just saw Portlandia take down the refs and the Lakers. After a dominant first quarter by the Blazers, the refs completely took over the second, but did let-up a bit in the second half.

:notbad:

Is anybody actually watching that shit?

Just one man's opinion.... the quality of play in the bubble has been remarkably good, I had low expectations, but am pleasantly surprised. I like Portland. I know it's likely to be the Clippers or the Lakers, but would prefer Portland, a team built without whiny babies demanding a trade to play with their buddies. My first choice in the West would be Dallas, but I think they are a year away. Doncic may be the best player in the league right now. Milwaukee despite their stumble is the class of the East. Head and shoulders above everyone else.

NHL, same thing, high quality of play. It is impossible to find a favorite in the NHL. By far the best postseason tournament of any league because of the balance. I'm a big hockey fan.

Glad to see that the Trumpkins rush in here to tell us all how little they care. Move along. Can't even start a sports thread without it being ruined by all the partisan bullshit.

Lebron being a grade A Prick is more than enough reason for me!

Honestly, I never disliked LeBron before. I liked that he brought a championship to his hometown, and I loved that he defeated the Thunder in the finals. It wasn't until his pro-China BS that he finally lost me.

If it continues to slide, it will lose most people. Then it will be forced to actually move to China, I guess.

There was a moment from yesterday where refs reviewed to assess a flagrant foul. The announcers were laughing about how, in the 90s, we wouldn't have even bothered reviewing the play, as it could only have been a common foul back then. It wound-up being a flagrant foul.

His hostility towards Not People of Color is getting worse.

Selfishly I was hoping the playoffs would be cancelled so the Warriors would still be defending Western Conference champs at the start of next year. Now it's about not wanting the Lakers to win. And for personal entertainment purposes I would love to see Luka and the Mavs do something. Four young guys from Sacramento rent the unit down the hall from me and they are so bitter the Kings drafted Marvin Bagley instead of Luka. They get so fired up every time I see them and bring it up.

Being a Kings fan is probably like being a Mariners fan.

Well, Portlandia didn't have to battle the refs tonight, and got utterly obliterated (largely self-inflicted, as they couldn't shoot, pass, dribble, or get contested rebounds) by the Lakers, anyway.

Houston handled the Thunder, at least.
