I was looking at LAST names, dude! Yes, I have heard the name "Archie Manning" before. He might be part of a famous family? What do you think?
So far he’s been a disaster for UT.
I’m surprised you haven’t heard.
UT creamed Texas El Paso 27-10 last Saturday. Manning had 10 incompletions in a row with one interception at one stage .

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's not going to be LSU. Over rated as hell. In fact it won't be an SEC team. It will be the big 10 champ.

Two weeks from now when the ducks visit Penn State we should have some clarity about who's who this year.

I couldn't find one, so if this is a duplicate, hopefully @Damocles can merge them. It's 9/13 and I'm watching the Washington State Cougars get destroyed by UNT! The Huskies suck this year, they lost Penix Jr., a 2024 Heisman candidate to the NFL.

So - who do you think will win it all this year? It's early, but we've seen all teams play as of today. So I'm going to start a poll.
I haven't found a duplicate.

L

I think he has a good chance of winning the Heisman if he completes 45 -50% of his passes.
Texas plays Texas this week! (Austin v. El Paso). If they keep giving the Longhorns this weak schedule, of course they'll maintain their standing!

That's not going very far.

Most teams in the top 10 are overrated IMO. Ohio State's win over Texas doesn't look impressive. They did slightly better than UTEP, at home no less.
Penn State has played... nobody.
Miami has the best resume.
Oregon struggled against Wisconsin who got clobbered by Alabama.
FSU looks pretty impressive w/ that win over Alabama.
Georgia shoulda lost to Tenn.
At this point in the season I'd have to rank Miami at No. 1
FSU #2. After that... nobody looks particularly impressive.
Although Oklahoma looks like they have a good offense, LSU and Texas, good defenses but Texas' QB stinks.
Nobody really stands out at this point, IMO.

Uh oh, friend! Looks like you made a pick! Miami! I'm still going with Oregon - may the best man (me) win! :)

Oregon didn't play Wisconsin they played Northwestern and they didn't struggle playing in Chicago. The score was 34-0 with 9 minutes left in the game and Northwestern scored twice in garbage time against Oregon's third string. The prior week while all the other top teams were playing division 2 cupcakes Oregon put 69 points on OK state the only legit opponent anyone played.

Yes Miami is looking strong but give Mario Cristobal a minute, he could fuck up a wet dream. Oregon doesn't miss him one bit.

Agree it's wide open but I won't be surprised if Ohio State rises to the top in the end as usual.

Vandy is looking pretty good though early. Not championship material but it would be nice to see them make a good run in the SEC.

You’re right. I must have been looking at last year’s results
Wisconsin was a little better last year but are on a decaying orbit the last half dozen years or so. If Oregon gets by Penn State it looks like clear sailing but going to Iowa in November could be a trap game.

I'm watching The Apple Cup right now. It's the cross-state rivalry between the UW and WA State. Huskies are favored to win - it's being played in Pullman - may the best team win!

I only watched a few minutes of football today, Auburn v Oklahoma. The game turned out a lot closer than I thought it would. I played with my new pressure washer instead, then did 40 miles on my bike.

Good for you. Pressure washing is cathartic. I love looking at the "before and after" when I do my driveway and sidewalk in front of my house. 40 miles on a bike is a little under 2 hours - good cardio!
