It looks like we'll have a new governor and for the first time in state history it will be a woman. Unfortunately it looks like she'll be a republican. That will make our state government totally republican. It worries me a great deal as they govern without any checks or balances, but I suppose we'll survive.
 
Single party gov'ts rarely last long.

I'm looking forward to getting a new governor. I've gotta say, I wish Spitzer hadn't stepped down. NY is a prime example of why someone's personal life simply doesn't matter.....
 
Yeah, and she's ahead by double digits. 538 has the chance of the Republicans winning that governorship at 96%. I've never seen anyone not win when 538 had them at 70%+.
