New Jersey ends basic reading and writing skills test requirement for teachers

Teachers tests are incompatible with DEI (Didn't Earn It) hiring so they cancel the tests.!!! America is doomed.

jan 5 2024 Teachers in New Jersey will no longer be required to pass a basic reading, writing and mathematics test to be eligible for public schools, according to a new law.

Act 1669, which was signed into law by Gov. Phil Murphy, D., in June, went into effect on Wednesday at the start of the new year. The law aims to tackle teacher shortages in the state by removing what the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA), a teachers’ union, called a "barrier" to certification in 2023.
The Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators test is used by over 40 states and territories in the country and includes questions on English and mathematics as well as basic questions on specific subjects.

"We need more teachers. This is the best way to get them," Democratic state Sen. Jim Beach argued when the bill was passed.

There is no teacher shortage and if there is it will be solved by removing the 10 million illegal alien kids in our schools.

This is all about hiring more illiterate blacks to be teachers.

Is that so?

The notion that most black teachers read and do arithmetic at a 6th-grade level is not supported by evidence.

@Grok
Here's the proof moron-boy. I await your apology.

1. Black-americans come in last in all standardized tests. Asian-americans do fine on all the tests so it's not due to cultural bias in the tests.

2. Africa is by far the poorest and most backward continent on the planet. All of black africa is now controlled by blacks and has been for decades so it's not due to racism.

3. No black has ever won a Science Nobel Prize unless you count one in 1979 for the semi-science of economics. They have won many nobels in non-brain fields like Peace and also in Literature so it is not due to racism.

4. Out of 1725 chess grandmasters in the world, only THREE are black.

5. 50 years of affirmative action special treatment and blacks have fallen even further behind. What does that tell you?

It doesn't prove your assertion.

Want to try again?

It’s reasonable to question how teachers who can not read and write can teach children to read and write.

Who told you teachers are interested in teaching children to read and write?

My teachers told me they were interested in my reading and writing by teaching me how to read and write.

This was long ago before teacher’s unions ( in my schools).

Most young people have probably never heard of Washington Irving, one of America’s first great writers. His words flow like warm butter. (“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”)…etc.

🤨

How old are you?

Teachers' unions in America have a history that spans over a century. The National Education Association (NEA) was founded in 1857, but it was initially more of a professional organization rather than a union. However, it evolved over time to include union-like activities, especially after the 1960s when it began to engage in collective bargaining.

The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) was established in 1916 and from its inception, it functioned explicitly as a union, focusing on labor rights and collective bargaining for teachers.

So, in terms of organized labor for teachers, unions have existed in some form in America for about:

  • NEA - 168 years (since 1857, but with union activities significantly increasing in the 1960s)
  • AFT - 109 years (since 1916)

There were no teacher’s unions in my school/schools…three of them.

There were dedicated teachers who cared about their students.

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) reports that about 70% of teachers participate in unions or employee associations, which has been decreasing over time, with data from 2015-16 suggesting this trend.

Since 2012, the reading proficiency in Chicago schools has decreased by 63% and math proficiency has decreased by 78%.

Shouldn't you guys be focusing on getting your schools to proper basic education levels?

"Come January 20, our country will inaugurate a president who has promised mass deportations, a voucher-mania agenda that threatens public education, and attacks on those who dare to teach the truth in our schools.Well, guess what — we’re going to fight him at every turn, and securing a fair contract and full funding for our schools is the first step toward winning that fight."
