Examples are the Mormon church and college fraternities.
I was in a fraternity for two years before I wisened up.
Mormons can have a very positive influence on people that need that sort of thing. But also very negative on those that don’t.
Both examples I gave require a degree of giving up personal independence.
I happen to do better without an organization or charismatic leader telling me how to live my life.
