My impression is that we are supposed to regard each other in an equally positive way. We are to feed the hungry, help shelter the homeless, care for and tend to the sick. Vance's interpretation seems to be more along the lines of feed, shelter, and care for those who agree with and/or look like you and kick out everyone else.,

If there was a fire at Walmart when you were shopping with your mom and you helped her to safety first, I'm pretty sure you would feel guilty about not being able to save everyone, but you wouldn't be judged for it, either. OTOH rich fuckers like Trump and Vance, who eat like kings but do nothing for the less fortunate, will likely have different results.
