New signs of dementia...

In fact, our stupid health system does a lot of damage to those who want to start a business. When they go on their own, they can pay very high premiums for health care, or go without. Both choices are perilous. Get injured or ill, and you may lose your investment. With universal care, you do not have to think about that. if you succeed, the health insurance for employees becomes your problem. That is a huge financial hit. You need to have employees whose job is just managing health insurance.
We compete on the international stage against corporations and people who do not have that cost.

The salient part…”you do not have to think about that.”

Allow the government to think for you, Nordy, I’d rather think for myself.

My son has started two successful businesses and health care was not a problem.

I do not want this government in charge of my health care... and apparently they can't figure out how to make it happen anyway...;)

LOL you have medicare which is run by the government, dorkus

Low IQ clowns

All businesses, big and small, would benefit with all citizens having a Universal Insurance plan, paid by taxes.

It would address what you say but also take a significant cost that US companies uniquely have to pay, and make them even more competitive world wide. All the while the individual would get better and cheaper insurance.

It is a true win/win.

But we have republi'cans' in America and they only care about the wins for Big INsurance and Big pharma.

And that is why America will pay the most for for healthcare for some of the worst results.

but you want to continue to see the Big Insurance and Big Pharma have control over peoples health and make more massive profits in America than they do in any other advanced country because we refuse to consolidate our buying power.

I can fire them

False.

You default to Big Pharma and Big Insurance thinking for you.

You have no chance to get Medicines as cheap as ALL other first world countries do as Big Pharma does the thinking on that price, without your voice in the negotiation and you are simply a 'taker'. Pay what they tell you or do without.

And your son having two successful business says nothing to the point, that MANY people who make the choice to start business that are not instantly successful or where they do not have significant capital behind them, have to forego healthcare to invest in their business to ensure its survival. They may turn the corner and become very successful but that gamble they have to make in America is not one that entrepreneurs have to make in other countries.

I can fire them.

And if you do you go without insurance. Hurray.

What you cannot do, is get any meaningful difference simply by moving from one to the other. Their oligopoly ensures that in America and that you will pay more than citizens in any other first world country do.

All things Republi'cans' fight against.

Quick two are :

- a Nation wide insurance system that comes out of taxes, would save both individuals and nation a lot of money while ensuring everyone could get the care they need without having to go broke
- allowing government to negotiate and bulk buy pharmaceuticals and all medicines

I see value in government allowing me to choose where my money goes. I do not want to be forced to pay into a system that brings low value. If I am paying for health insurance from a company then I can chose another company if I am not receiving value, all the way until and unless government is the "company" then you get whatever they'll give you and just swallow that now because that's what you get.

So, if you come up with a system where, say, the money follows the insured and we can choose insurance that we value, or disregard insurance that we do not value, then you'd have at the very least my silence, if not my support, so you can pass it. But to lend support or my silence to the idea that we take the choices away, centralize it among unelected bureaucrats without any recourse to change services should we find little value in what we are receiving from our government owned and operated insurance all so you can feel "safe"? No frikkin' thank you.

As for negotiating prices on drugs. I'm good with that. We need to stop overpaying so that America's Hat can have cheaper drugs. And your pretending that it was republicans that stopped you when you had a supermajority in both houses of congress with Obama in the White House though, that's just stupid. You didn't prioritize it, you can't blame the republicans, that crap's on you.

I have STRS insurance .... and Medicare...only because they make you sign up...I'd drop it in a minute if I could......:)

They are not very big coming out of Wallowa Lake and look a little worse for wear right now. Deep red and kinda beat up.
New Mexico has some lakes with salmon in them they have billboards on the highway . I have always wondered about them . They had to be stocked there I just wonder if they reproduce

I just watched a video of the Oregon game and fish guy telling everyone how to fish for them (red fish).

And you see here why the US continues to suffer as the derps argue to maintain this...

Your 'choice' is a delusion eaten up by derps. The market is an Oligopoly taking advantage of you by offering you false choice.

For instance, real choice... real competition would see the prices offered compare to those paid by SMALLER nations above. The CHOICE they lie to you is to pay between 6 or 10 times more than others do... NOW CHOOSE.

And see the charts above as your system is delivering low value across the masses. Infant Mortality and shorter life expectancy prove that.

it is derp food and you are eating.
