New Speaker: "I refuse to put people over politics"

New Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has laid down his party's guiding philosophy in an email, declaring, "I refuse to put people over politics".

This comes as no surprise, of course, but it seems good to have it on the record, without the typical wiggle room. We just need to overlook the inevitable attempts by
his less honest colleagues to backtrack, sometimes aided by reporters.

Go to it, Mike.

Not so Freudian slip

I know what he means... everyone does...;)
Correct. Everyone knows exactly what he means.

During his tenure as chair of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) between 2019 and 2021, Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) helped craft budget resolutions that called for roughly $2 trillion in Medicare cuts, $3 trillion in Medicaid and Affordable Care Act cuts, and $750 billion in Social Security Cuts, noted Bobby Kogan of the Center for American Progress.

Why did the dems allow Mike Johnson to become speaker?

I'll clearly recognize that the new speaker isn't worth his weight in pig vomit,
but that being said,
how does one separate people and politics?

Politics are only about people trying to find a way to live with one another,
and some day it might actually help.

We'll need to do a bit more evolving first, of course.

It wouldn't matter if the Republicans elected Almighty God himself as speaker, you Democrats would bitch and moan

Why not?

1st, if a deity actually exists, it's doing a pretty shitty job.

2nd, if it's the reactionary Republicans choosing the Speaker,
whomever they choose is going to be somebody about whom sane people will complain.

I tend to agree, then, with Arby's statement.

But this assclown theocrat Johnson is really something.

If every broad had to look like Charlize Theron to be a desired sex partner,

I suppose that condition would have at least prevented our overpopulation problem.

They don't, and we are overpopulated.

This kind of reminds me of that time when that fucking idiot, oh what's the morons name, that said, "Well I tell you what, If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black."

Uhm... I think we all know Johnson does not have that particular problem. He would not have spent that much time "praying the gay away" if there was not gay to pray away. I have never prayed the gay away, but I am definitely not gay. That is because there was never any gay to pray away.

Johnson can be a homosexual, or even a repressed homosexual all he wants, but there is a danger with repressing sexual desire. My worry is that danger happened with Johnson's "adoption." Usually an adoption means you give a child a home, and access to education. Johnson admits he did neither. Instead, he met with a male child, in private, and at the end of whatever they did, he paid the child $20....
