I'm the rare lefty who really doesn't care too much about the gun issue, and I do believe in our constitutional right to bear arms. I will confess that walking around a big city like London without a piece in my pocket--particularly when the cops didn't have guns either--did feel a lot like walking around without trousers on. I'm just not accustomed to it.

But in the year 2019, thinking that one can fight the government with personal small arms is pretty much psychotic. Fortunately, it isn't necessary. We get a chance to overthrow the government at election time, and there isn't even a single tank on the streets.

I used to be the same way until I found out how many mentally unstable people own guns. But if a person is of sound mind and doesn't have a criminal background, I think they should be allowed to own a gun. Not to prevent a dictatorship because that's completely fucking ridiculous, but for self-defense.

If you don't count being part of a Continental Prison System as a dictatorship....whose to argue? But that is ODD. Looks like the Government boys are still attempting to keep dem prisoners in tow....with an "UNCODIFIED CONSTITUTION". You might not call allowing all rights to stim from The Government instead of God....non-totalitarian...but logic does not agree. Just when did THE PEOPLE or their representatives get to vote on and ratify a New Zealand Rule of Law standard...i.e., a Constitution? Where was their voice?
