Merry Christmas, GinGRINCH...

Newt Gingrich has failed to meet the requirements to be in the primary election in his home state of Virginia, the state's Republican Party said.

Despite Gingrich's last-minute effort to submit his petitions by Thursday's deadline, the state party said on its website on Saturday that a verification process showed he had not submitted the 10,000 signatures required to qualify...

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives defiantly pledged to run a write-in campaign for the March 6 primary.

Newtzi declared confidently the other day that he would get his name on the ballot for the Virginia presidential primary.

In fact, he said he already had the requisite 10,000 signatures and an additional 2,000 to 3,000 for safety’s sake and would probably collect even more.

But that turned out not to be the case.

Many of the Gingrich campaign’s signatures were apparently invalid....

Gingrich immediately began suffering a psychological effect as the Twitterverse and pundits questioned his ability to organize as well as his credibility — he had declared with authority earlier that he would make the ballot.

The man will continue until he has thoroughly discredited himself. Just as sociopaths lack a social conscience they lack the ability to feel humiliation. Either that or he possesses a little sadism/masochism. From espousing child labor to continually getting slapped down during his campaign he keeps coming back for more. He's unable to distinguish between perseverance and idiocy.
