NFL player sits for US National Anthem but stands for Mexico's National Anthem.

Have a great weekend, RB 60. I hope your Thanksgiving holiday was wonderful and that you are planning for an equally amazing Christmas:)
I imagine the cars are tucked away by now and the car shows over for now...Spring isn't all that far away. Let's hope the winter is kind to us this year:)

Yes, had a great Thanksgiving and hope yours was too. Christmas should be good again this year, too. Hope yours is as well.
Car is cleaned, waxed and covered for the winter. Saving up a few $$$ for alignment and regular maintenance come spring,
and checking into a big Cobra show that's being held in London, Ohio come summer. It's quite a distance to drive and depends
on the weather, we'll see come June. I plan on hitting most local car shows with a few guys/gals who get together and travel
as a small group, they welcomed me to join them. They have some pretty darn nice award winning muscle cars and street rods.
As for winter, the Farmer's Almanac says we're in for a harder one, we'll see. I just hope it's short! I'm already ready for spring!

Sounds like some plans:) I looked at the Almanac not long ago...it looked like it was going to be a bit milder than usual? Who knows, but I hope the one I read was correct:)
There's a big Muscle Car show in Columbus every year (probably more than one, but I just remember seeing this:)...Goodguys Nationals at the fairgrounds in July...you should look into it;)

Yep, that's a big car show. Although my car is fun to drive, it's basically a race car with a license plate on it, no top, no "creature comforts" of any kind, is excessively loud, gets terrible gas mileage
and has a very small and tight "cockpit." Definitely not a "touring" car! But I did know that before I bought it. One reason I bought it is that there are very few around, that, and they are an "attention
magnet" to everyone who has even the slightest interest in automobiles. Again, we'll just have to see when the time comes.

Meh. Maybe.
There is a problem in this country with police misconduct. But it isn't one that only people of color experience. It's an issue that needs to be addressed. So I understand why people feel a need to make public displays. The problem won't get handled though. It won't because we are so divide .

Why are we so divided, in your opinion? I have some thoughts too on that.

This is my idea of an attention getting chick magnet car.

Largely because those in power know they can't stay in power when people are united.

Interesting -- sums up my own theory as well. They have powerful tools now at their disposal -- social media, the Internet in general. TV and talk radio for the older generations. Reading something more pithy like the op-eds in your daily paper allowed for a lot more time to ponder and question. That's not a problem anymore.

Yes I would. This is like the last muscle car we had and the first new car we ever bought. The only difference besides the wheels was ours was a light gold with a green interior. Man we loved that car.

We sold it when we got orders to go to Germany in 1972.

My favorite Mopar's have to be the old Cuda's and Challengers. I almost bought a Challenger years ago, but when I went to finalize the deal, they had just got a 67' Mustang fastback in. Being a "true blue" Ford man, I bought the Mustang and built a 550+ HP 429 SCJ and dropped it into it.
One of my all-time dream cars was an AC Cobra. Finally, I have one :)

Our charger had a 440 six pack. It would light the tires up at 60 MPH. You had to be careful in the rain.

Im not typically the conspiracy theory type of guy. Instead of thinking they control the various outlets I think they instead capitalize on things that happen by chance and make them out to be bigger than they really are.

Ditto. Conspiracies are not very viable because whenever you got more than a couple of people in on a plot, someone eventually blabs. It's just how we are. I don't think there are cartels who control government and the media for the same reason... but I do believe that we have given up on the capitalist ideal of competition and allowed a handful of mega-corps to control access to the media and now to the Internet.... to information.

The idea of the "dumbing down of America" theory seems real to me. Not that I think kids/young people are more stupid than we were. It's more like information is so freely available from a huge # of sources, 24/7/365, it's hard for a person to discern between what's an accurate and valuable piece of info, and what's bullshit. Critical thinking skills aren't much taught anymore. Confirmation bias is god. This is true for both left and right, politically.

What do you think?

Pretty much. Though I think we may disagree what allowed it to happen.

Corporations are not really a problem as I see it. Well rather they wouldn't be if we had kept the scope of government limited so they can't interfere with the market. If they weren't able to do that then there would have been no reason for large corporations to get involved with government,,, I think you see where I'm going with this.

You are anti-regulation?

Pure capitalism is every bit as evil and destructive as pure communism, maybe even more so. One of the things that America has done best is corral, harness, and tame capitalism so that it best serves our citizens and our economy. We've used regulations to do this. No, you cannot exploit your workers and force them to work over x amt of hours without due compensation. No, you cannot exploit children as workers. No, you cannot fuck up the air and water without being forced to remediate your mess. No, you cannot grab an entire market unto yourself and freeze out competition. And so on.

Your thoughts?

I don't care about football, so I certainly don't care what happens at football games. Standing, kneeling, whatever, makes no difference to me. Just like the opinions of Hollywood and other celebrities mean nothing to me.

Why not protest in front of police stations? It wouldn't do any good. Not that it is doing anything at football games either.

The fans can vote with their feet and their remotes. I would think that critics of the kneeling players could be more appreciative of that power.

Btw, people who believe that there are no conspiracies are deluded and living in their own little world. The same people who say there are no conspiracies are loudly claiming that the election was stolen via a conspiracy.

Carry on.

There certainly are conspiracies. I'll openly admit that. But by and large many of the popular conspiracy theories just simply don't make sense.

Mason sent the picture to me. He's too afraid to admit that he did. Wonder why?
