Here is a tip for you. Sea level projections are highly variable around the world. The ocean is not just one big bathtub that rises in level at a uniform rate everywhere. Scientists spend years considering how tides, currents, topography, subsidence, thermal expansion and how all those interplaying factors ranks in the magnitude of the risk of sea level rise to coastal communities.

I believe the Obama's are smart enough that, before they invest millions of dollars, they are going to either research themselves, or consult with experts, about any natural risks associated with the property they are interested in.

I don't think some realize that oceans touch EVERY coastline on the planet.
If the sea level rises in Miami, it rises in the Maldives (same 5' sea level elevation) on the
other side of the planet. So, the uber intelligent Barry & Mooch decide to plunk
down 15 mil at ground zero of sea level on a property that will be turned into a
deep sea diving tourist attraction in 12 years??? Gimme a break.
They're as phony as the day is long.

But the reality is that ocean is not at equilibrium height anywhere but a few randomly dispersed points that happen randomly in the course of the interchange of the various waves inherent in bodies of water, the gravity induced by the density of the earth in the respective regions, and the tidal pull of celetial bodies, not to mention tectonic variances, the rebound of landmass from compression of glaciaers in past glacial regimes... Fuck, it's endless! It's really impossible to determine the sea level height with any kind of accuarcy, so believing there's a crisis is to believe we have somehow figured out how to measure something that is impossible to measure
