Unfortunately a lot of them are more interested in hurting their fellow citizens than they are in helping those on their side. See Toxic and pEarl's posts for evidence.

In a way I hope the DEMS do fold and let all the Cuts Trump and the MAGAS want to take effect go into effect and let them start crying when they don't have those federal programs to fall back on any more and see what happens to them then.
As it has been pointed out many of times it is the Southern " RED" states that depend on those programs the most.
And they are so stupid they keep voting against their own best interests.

Do you disagree with wanting people to work for the benefits they receive? And for all Americans to get the benefits they deserve?

I dunno. I just can't support harming even Red state residents to spite the MAGATs. I don't want to be like them.

A lot of the folks being cut off on Nov. 1 are veterans. Funny how MAGATs constantly bleat about their pretend patriotism and love for our vets, yet when they can fuck over (D)s they're fine with fucking the vets over too. Collateral damage.

Odd, isn’t it? They can find donors for Trump’s ballroom and an anonymous donor for the military. They can fund ICE out there abusing civil liberties. But we can’t find funds for 12% of our neediest.

The country continues its decline under Trump. Who knows how long it will take us to recover.

The trump administration is marked by cruelty. Trump does not care about others, and that filtered through the Republican party. The Reds have fought raising the min wage. That means many people are working and cannot afford to feed their families. Some work 2 jobs and cannot keep up. Trumps inflation has gone up . That hurts the marginalized people fighting to stay alive.
Trump enjoys turning the screws on the poor. This board shows so do his followers.
Every state has its own qualifications for food stamps.
There are many thousands of Federal employees who were fired by Trump. They will feel the same pain and desperation as the poor.
 
The priorities we have as a nation right now are so obvious.

People are so dug into partisan mode that they can't see the forest for the trees. It's really insane to have something like this extravagant ballroom be at the top of the list when millions may be about to wonder where their next meal is coming from.

Yay wealth.

This has nothing to do with people losing their benefits...you realize that, I'm sure...until Democrats come to their senses and the government reopens, just put aside your ballroom anxiety and help out in your community if people are in need...
