Right, and the slogans “war on drugs,” “silent majority,””welfare queen,” especially as employed by Agnew in campaigning, weren’t dog whistles either, in fact, Nixon’s campaign falls directly into line with Goldwaters’s “Operation Dixie, and the same strategy Atwater had Reagan employing in such as his Willie Horton ads later
