ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News has a reporter and photographer headed to North Atlanta High School for a student injured in a fight.

Channel 2’s Tyisha Fernandes obtained video of the incident that happened Friday morning, showing two students fighting each other.

In the video, you see one of the students with a pair of scissors in his hand. Moments later, the other student is seen with a bloodied face and being helped by others to stand up and be carried away.

Really, with everything going on in the world you think violence in a high school in Atlanta, Georgia is noteworthy? There are approximately 23,875 high schools in America, do you think this is the only one that had a violent incident recently?

Atlanta Public Schools takes matters involving student safety very seriously. This morning at North Atlanta High School, a physical altercation occurred between two students, during which one student sustained an injury.

We are aware that a video is being circulated on social media claiming that the student has passed away after the altercation. Reports that the student has passed away are false. The incident is being investigated by school administrators and Atlanta Public Schools Police Department.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain the highest priority at all Atlanta Public Schools.
