North Carolina just went Blue

NC has been a purple state for years

so yes, obviously it will be a factor

get lost flush, you're a mess

It will only be a factor if 2,000-3,000 votes will change the election results.

You are not being realistic. We both know voter turnout is a much more important factor than whether felons on parole/probation can vote.

This is the most farcical strawman talking point on the planet. You could barely fill a proverbial thimble with the number of actual white supremecists in this country. :palm:

That was my point. The number of felons (on probation/parole) in N.C. are very unlikely to change the state to blue. Felons vote in low numbers (less than 20%) and all of them do not vote Democratic.

We are talking about white felons who commonly join racial gangs in prison (whether they are actually white supremacists or not). Whites who were members of prison gangs are less likely to vote Democratic than other felons so assuming all those felons will vote Democratic is not realistic. Even if they did the numbers are so small as to make no real difference in elections.

Trump won NC by 74,481 votes.......after seeing his margin of victory drop 2/3 from 2016

it is entirely possible we'll see an even narrower margine in 2024, it's not a lock for the GOP

the new voters just added to the rolls could easily make a difference, very easily

Courts cannot create laws. This will be overthrown and was probably an Obama appointee who doesn't know the law and doesn't care. :palm:

Obama did not appoint judges to the N. C. courts. It did not create a law but overturned a law that violated the N. C. constitution.

The entire south eastern seaboard is in play nowadays. We own the west, the northeast
and the rest is a giant purple blob we will sponge up the necessary dripping from to win every election forever!

The US is a fat porterhouse and your red states are au jus.

In a low turnout, narrow, midterm election, 2-3K votes can most definitely make the difference.

Killing those voters through COVID and vaccine denial is probably a dumb strategy.

Don't forget the thousands of Conservatives who are going to die of COVID between now and November 2022.

In 2020 the closest margin for any of the 13 N. C. House seats was about 25,000.

Am I reading the story wrong then?

"Under state law, individuals are prohibited from voting until they are fully discharged from probation, parole or a suspended sentence — often years after they are released from prison. Monday’s ruling by a panel of the state Superior Court in Raleigh could make North Carolina the only state in the South to automatically restore voting rights to people after they leave prison."

Sounds to me like they are creating law and overturning STATE law. Be less stupid Flash. You're better than this.
:palm:

I cannot see how people, especially your family, can stand you.

Projection
Projection is the process of displacing one’s feelings onto a different person, animal, or object. The term is most commonly used to describe defensive projection—attributing one’s own unacceptable urges to another. For example, if someone continuously bullies and ridicules a peer about his insecurities, the bully might be projecting his own struggle with self-esteem onto the other person.
