NSA "Scandal"

1) A lawsuit was filed, that does not mean it has been proven.
2) Not the same issue.
3) If some Rogue IRS agents did that, they should be punished.

Privacy is the issue and this has to do with privacy....

Thats what makes you a pinheaded hack....its not 15 rogue agents, it an entire rogue administration....and only one of 8 scandals, 3 involving the IRS, targeting the right, squantering taxpayer money on bullshit, and the medical records, 2 the State Department, Benghazi and agents sexcapades,
2, a perjuring Attorney General/ Fast and Furious, 1, the EPA targeting Conservatives.......

If you want to keep your communications with your client quiet...don't send an e-mail.

Snail mail will ensure your correspondence is between who you wish it to be.

my confidential communication with my clients is done via personal face to face communication or via snail mail. I do email them, but not about confidential information.

You forgot the birth certificate, born in Kenya, and Collage transcripts scandals...

Brilliant argument there.

Well, I can't think of any scenario under which the NSA, absent judicial oversight, could be granted access to the central servers of Google to gain access to emails, chat logs, video chats, any documents or other files stored in Google Drive of American citizens. I mean, I think that's a pretty self-evidently a scandal.

Now who's being naive?

Sure, I have a reasonable EXPECTATION of privacy, but I would never ASSUME what I expect to be what actually transpires.

I don't think it's all that naive to expect the government to follow the Constitution. Also, too, if you think the government reads your emails, why would you assume that your snail mail wouldn't be read?

Its not a scandal to be born in Kenya or hide your birth certificate and college grades....
millions of people are born in Kenya and the rest is just strange and weird....indicative of a personality disorder at worst.
But a scandal ?....I don't think so.

I think since the Patriot Act was implemented, the Government has found ways to "bypass the Constitution" to "ensure our safety".

And it's not the Government that I worry is reading my e-mails...it's the criminal element.

Neither would I, considering the abuse of power already evident by this administration....that doesn't mean it should be accepted or overlooked.

so you think it's ok to ignore the constitution as long as the government says they are doing it to keep you safe??

I think paranoid fraidy cats who were seeing "eeeeeevil moslems" in every dark corner after 9/11 never had a problem with the Government ignoring the constitution when it was the Bush administration doing just that for 8 years.

Just haven't got the guts to admit this shit was going on LONG before the Obama administration EVER got into office, do ya?

What am I saying? I forgot who I was talking to...

what does that have to do with my question though?

You asked me a question and I answered.

This situation didn't just spring up overnight...the problem has existed since the Patriot Act was passed.

People who are upset with the perceived overreach going on now should have considered that back when they voted FOR the Patriot Act.

now take in to consideration that I have always been on the side of the patriot act being unconstitutional, that the spying was always overreach, that data was being gathered without a warrant and that it was illegal....now, what does your answer have to do with what I asked?

don't know...don't care

I've explained it TWICE now...

Done playing your gotcha game.

Because that what the system allgedly allows for. It allegely permits the NSA to have real-time access to the servers of various technology companies. With that access, the government can do whatever the hell it wants.
