A Henry County pastor faces sexual offense charges in Missouri.

Robert Azinger, 54, of Florida, Ohio, waived extradition Monday during a hearing in Napoleon Municipal Court. Mr. Azinger is a pastor at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in his home village.

He’s charged in Missouri with one first-degree felony count of statutory rape, five second-degree felony counts statutory rape, and four first-degree felony counts of statutory sodomy. If convicted, the first-degree offenses carry punishments of five to 30 years on each count.

Mr. Azinger, formerly of Scott City, Mo., is alleged to have engaged in a sexual act when the victim was less than 14 and after the victim turned 14, according to the Scott County Prosecutor’s Office.

Federal authorities arrested a The Grace Place youth pastor Monday in Ocala on a charge of enticing a minor to engage in a sexual relationship.

Officials say, 24-year-old Jeffrey Brian Mobley, formely of Stuart, was arrested by a Marion County Sheriff around 8:30 a.m. at 11000 W SR 40.

Mobley appeared before a federal judge Monday during a first appearance, according to court records. He was ordered to be held in custody pending a detention hearing and preliminary examination.

Officials say in September 2015, a suspicious conduct report was made to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office concerning the youth pastor and a minor who was under his trust and care through a religious based youth program in Stuart.

According to investigators, Mobley had allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with two minors in the church’s youth program. He allegedly enticed the minors to engage in sexual activity and exchange sexually explicit images.

If convicted, Mobley faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years up to life in prison. If convicted, he also faces up to a lifetime of supervised release and the requirement that he register as a sex offender.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood , an initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

A pastor at an evangelical church in Deerfield was charged with the sexual abuse of a minor, authorities said.

The pastor, Samuel Kee, has since resigned from the North Suburban Evangelical Free Church, appeared Wednesday in Lake County court, where he pleaded not guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Authorities said the allegations involve a 16-year-old girl who was a member of the church.

The church's Elder Board accepted Kee's resignation from his role as pastor of teaching and discipleship, according to a statement released by the church.

The Rev. Joseph Raleigh was arrested in a law enforcement sex sting and remains in jail in Pierre facing state and federal charges that he tried to pay for sex with someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl.

Raleigh had been pastor of First Baptist Church in Miller since July 2013.

The son of a Cheektowaga pastor will spend the next six months behind bars on a sex-related charge involving a minor.

Caleb Sexton, 28, pleaded guilty in September to a criminal sexual act charge. Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case also ordered him to undergo ten years of sex offender supervision once he is out of jail. Sexton admitted that when he was 26, he engaged in sexual conduct with a 13-year-old girl he met through his father's church, the Hedstrom Baptist Church in Cheektowaga.

Police say their investigation revealed he used the internet to engage the victim in sex related conversations, as well as to send and request lewd pictures.

Family: Tennessee church hid bathroom rape of 3-year-old, lied to parents and urged against prosecution



A family filed a lawsuit this week against a church in Brentwood, Tennessee for allegedly covering up the rape of their 3-year-old child.

The lawsuit, which was obtained by WTVF, indicates that the family left their 3-year-old-boy in the care of the church’s Children’s Ministry on the Sunday of August 24, 2014.

When the boy said that he did not want to go back to church the next week, the family discovered that a teenage volunteer had raped the child in one of the church’s bathrooms.

The family explained in the lawsuit that they confronted church leaders, who initially claimed that the child was lying about the incident.

The church later “urged the [family] not to pursue criminal charges against the perpetrator,” the lawsuit stated.

After the volunteer pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault, the lawsuit said that the church “sought to hide the truth about the perpetrator pedophile and about the rape of [the 3-year-old child] from other families.”

“We want justice for this family,” attorney Kathryn Barnett of Morgan & Morgan told WTVF. “But also we want to make sure that every child at this church and every church is safe.”

“It’s not okay to wait until a child is raped before you start to take youth protection seriously.” she added.

A Fellowship Baptist Church training video that was created earlier this year explains that the Children’s Ministry has a strict bathroom policy.

“In all cases, no one should be alone with a child,” the video says. “Two adults are required to escort a child to the bathroom.”

A West Virginia pastor was accused of sexual abuse of a young boy last year, and the allegations were so graphic that local WCHSTV couldn't publish them. Now the same pastor is behind bars on another allegation of abuse.

James Robert "JR" Smith was arrested last year on charges he'd sexually abused a boy since 2009, starting when the boy was 10 years old, WCHSTV reports.

He was out on bond when he was arrested again Tuesday for molestation charges in a different state.

Smith was a pastor at Morning Star House of Prayer in West Virginia. The second allegation happened in Indiana.

Last year, a member of his church continued to support him after he was arrested the first time on counts of first degree sexual abuse and sexual abuse by a parent or guardian.

"I just think that it's somebody that's out to sabotage him and I won't believe no different," church member Janice Allen told the station. "Ever seen he's been here, there's been tales told on him. He's been confronted with it. Nobody can prove anything that's even been said on him."

The first victim, now 15, came forward last May and said that the most recent incident of abuse happened in April. The boy told authorities that Smith told him "bad things" would happen if he told anyone. Smith apparently lived with the boy and his family. The alleged abuse happened in multiple states.

Smith was arraigned Tuesday on the second set of charges and is held without bail pending an extradition hearing, WCHSTV reports.

Thom Miller is a 60-year-old Ohio pastor who just married his pregnant teen girlfriend Reba Kerfoot – with the permission of his wife.

Miller also claims he used to be a former “mafia enforcer,” although he actually went to prison for stabbing a dude in a bar fight.

Oh, he found God in prison.

Miller is now living with his first wife, 44-year-old Belinda Miller, and the new wife in their Ohio home. He says that although he’d never “preached” polygamy, he and Belinda had considered it for some time and felt that it was a lovely and Biblical arrangement.

Of course, while Miller may be allowed to have two wives and other extramarital affairs, both of the women in the arrangement are supposed to remain faithful to him.

However, Miller — being a very devout and holy man — has a bone to pick with gay people. “I have no problem with homosexuals,” Miller says, “but I think it’s wrong that their marriage is now recognized by the state, but my second marriage is not.”

A former Cleveland pastor accused of sexually abusing four children in his parish rejected a plea deal Tuesday that would have put him in prison for nearly three decades.

Ubaldo Ocasio, 52, chose instead to fight multiple charges of rape, kidnapping, gross sexual imposition and sexual battery that could send him to prison for 205 years to life if convicted on all counts.

"He's maintaining his innocence," Ocasio's attorney, Jaye Schlachet, told cleveland.com after the hearing.

His trial is scheduled to begin Tuesday afternoon.

Ocasio is accused of raping and abusing the girls, who were between the ages of 9 and 16 while he was the pastor at a small church.
