O cum, all ye faithful

Charles Adcock, the former youth pastor at Woodward Avenue Baptist Church whose charged with more than two dozen counts of rape and sodomy is suing Colbert County Sheriff Frank Williamson.

Adcock was charged in September 2014 for sex abuse crimes and let out on bond, but then brought back to the Colbert County Jail because he allegedly broke the conditions of his bond by taking another job as a youth minister in Texas.

Court documents filed at the end of November by Adcock's attorney requesting a "Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus" to allow Adcock to go before a judge and plead his case on why he should be let out on bond.

The civil suit also says the church where Adcock was part-time employed knew of his sexual abuse charges in Alabama but were not allowing him unsupervised time with minors.

The suit also says since Adcock's most recent bond revocation in September 2015 he has been "imprisoned and restrained of his liberty."

Adcock still remains in the Colbert County Jail. His trial for the crimes is expected to take place in February.

Let the little children come to me

The pastor of a South Side church molested a girl during counseling sessions in his office, prosecutors said Wednesday.

George Waddles started counseling the girl at Zion Hill Baptist Church when she was 13.

Then, in May or June 2014, Waddles asked the girl to sit on his lap, Pease-Harkin said. The girl complied.

Waddles, now 67, proceeded to kiss the girl’s neck, put a hand inside her pants and touched her groin, Pease-Harkin said.

The girl left Waddles’ office and told her mother what had happened a month later.

Waddles admitted what he had done in front of the girl, her mother and his wife. He then allegedly asked the group not to contact police.

The victim recorded Waddles’ confession on her cellphone, Pease-Harkin said. His admission was also on the girl’s mother’s tablet, which the police took.

Judge Donald Panarese Jr. ordered Waddles released on his own recognizance for aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The judge also recommended that Waddles be placed on electronic monitoring while he awaits trial.

Two other church members said that Waddles attacked them, prosecutors said. Waddles was never charged in those alleged incidents.

A Christian pastor has been arrested over allegations that he raped two underage sisters more than 100 times over a four-year period.

Alfredo Zavala, 56, allegedly told the siblings -- who were 9 and 10 years old when the abuse is said to have begun -- that they should trust him "unconditionally" because he had been chosen by Christ, multiple media outlets reported.

He is also alleged to have invoked the "name of God" to force them into performing sexual acts. The girls are now 13 and 14.

A 24-year-old pastor in Caldwell has been sentenced up to 11 and a half years in prison for having sex with a teen girl.

Casey R. Dyck, 24, was sentenced for felony sexual battery of a minor that's 16 or 17 years of age.

Prosecutors said Dyck had sex with an underage girl several times at Centennial Baptist Church.

The sexual escapades occurred at his home in Caldwell and at the school, prosecutors say. Dyck also exchanged sexually-charged text and photos with numerous underage girls.

One of the victims told police that she was promised extra credit if she wore short skirts and low-cut tops to school.

A Fort Pierce man is accused of molesting a girl at at the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus church and blaming the devil for his actions.

He said, "The devil tempted me and I did it."

According to an arrest affidavit, it happened when the suspect met up with an 11-year-old girl and her mother in the kitchen of the complex.

The accused allegedly asked the girl if she could help him with some cables in a nearby room, since she had small hands. The girl's mother allowed her to help out.

The mother told police she saw the door of the room close after the two went inside, but she continued about her business in the kitchen.

Between seven and 10 minutes later, the girl returned to her mother, saying, "that man touched me."

The girl told police the man hugged her, and touched her breasts and private parts.

The suspects' son says the allegations come as a shock. "I know my dad, he wouldn't do that. For a fact, especially in church, because he's a good Christian. I guess he just admitted it because he was in the spotlight. He told me he didn't touch her and not in that way."

A Rock Hill pastor accused on inappropriately touching a young boy more than four years ago saw his day in court Friday in York County.

The prosecution and defense literally spent years preparing for a jury trial in the case of Johnny Cabe, but within the last few months a plea deal was struck.

Reverend Johnny Cabe stood before a judge and pleaded no contest to five counts of unlawfully practicing medicine. In 2010, while Pastor at Riverside Baptist Church, Cabe was accused of touching an 11-year-old boy's private parts during a so-called medical exam. At that time Cabe faced charges of committing a lewd act with a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

"Mr. Cabe, in his mind, did not do anything wrong with the medical exam. It's part of his religion that there's healing, he does have some training," said B.J. Barrowclough, Cabe's Defense Attorney.

10 Sex Scandals that Rocked the Christian Church

bishop-eddie-long-church-300.jpg "This is difficult, difficult for everybody. This is the most difficult time in my entire life," said Bishop Eddie Long addressing his New Birth Missionary Baptist Church congregation on Sunday in Georgia. In one week, Long's life has changed dramatically, but he refuses to retreat. The Pastor announced to the 30,000 member mega church in Lithonia, Georgia, after making a numerous amount of headlines last week for the homosexual accusations brought against him -- he will not step down from his leadership role as Pastor. This comes as a surprise to some, especially the four young men who have all brought lawsuits against the Bishop claiming Long coerced and seduced them into inappropriate sexual relationship that compromised Long's spiritual guidance and authority. Spencer LeGrande, a 22-year-old member of New Birth in Charlotte, NC claims that in 2005 Long told him he would be his "dad" and took him on a trip to Kenya where Long allegedly gave him a sleeping pill and the two engaged is sexual acts that Long described as a "healthy component of [LeGrande's] spiritual life," according to the lawsuit. In the last 10 years we have had our share of sex scandals that have rocked the Christian church. Black and White -- religion sees no color -- all of these individuals were either accused, admitted to, or found guilty of heinous sexual crimes with individuals in or out of their church establishment, ultimately shaming their families, congregation, and themselves. 1. John Paulk, 2000 John Paulk, former leader of the Love Won Out conference, was also author of the autobiography "Not Afraid to Change," his story about being delivered from homosexuality. However, in September 2000, Paulk was photographed in a Washington, D.C. gay bar flirting with male patrons. Paulk initially denied the claims, but later confessed to being in the bar, adding that he did not enter the bar for sexual pursuits. 2. Douglas Goodman, 2004 Evangelist Douglas Goodman and his wife Erica were pastors of Victory Christian Centre, one of the largest churches in London, England, with a very popular televised ministry. After sexually assaulting four female churchgoers, Douglas Goodman was sentenced and jailed for three and a half years. VCC was closed, but after his release from prison Goodman joined his wife Erica in pastoral ministry at her newly established Victory to Victory church. 3. Ted Haggard, 2006 Ted Haggard was the pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as well as the president of the National Association of Evangelicals from 2003-2006. In 2006, it was revealed that Haggard had been regularly visiting a male prostitute who also provided him with drugs. Haggard admitted to his solicitation and resigned as pastor of his church and as president of the NAE. In 2009, Haggard admitted to a second relationship with a male church member on CNN-TV. 4. Paul Barnes, 2006 Paul Barnes, in his 28 years as a pastor, founded the Grace Chapel church in Douglas County, Colorado, with a few dozen people in his home basement. With time, the church's membership grew to 2,100 loyal followers. In 2006, Barnes confessed to homosexual activity and resigned. Many believe he was so forthright because of Ted Haggard's scandal, which happened at the same time in the same state. 5. Lonnie Latham, 2006 The Southern Baptist Convention, or the SBC, is an extremely powerful movement not only amongst Southern Baptists but Baptists nationwide. In 2006, Lonnie Latham, member of the SBC Executive Committee and senior pastor of South Tulsa Baptist Church, was arrested for allegedly inviting a male undercover Oklahoma City police officer to his hotel room for sex. Latham urged people not to believe it, and was later found not guilty in a one day trial for the misdemeanor. 6. Earl Paulk, 2007 Earl Paulk, sometimes considered the father of the religious sex scandal, has scandals (plural) that stretch over a decade. The late Earl Paulk was the founder and head pastor of Chapel Hill Harvester Church in Decatur, Georgia, from 1960 until the late 90s. During his time as pastor, a number of women from the congregation came forward claiming that they had sexual relations with Paulk, many of which were proven true. However it was the scandal involving Donnie Earl Paulk, the current senior pastor of the church and nephew of Earl Paulk, that was the most shocking of them all in. In 2007, Paulk D.E. Paulk took a court-ordered DNA test which showed that he was Earl's son, not his nephew -- sadly proving Earl and his sister-in-law had had a sexual relationship. Earl Paulk, who passed away in 2009, is said to be the longtime mentor of Bishop Eddie Long. 7. Coy Privette, 2007 Coy Privette is one of the famous Baptist ministers in the state of North Carolina, as the longtime head of the N.C. Christian Action League. In 2007, the State Bureau of Investigation and the Kannapolis Police Department charged Coy Privette with six counts of aiding and abetting prostitution. Privette, who was 74 at the time, was the Cabarrus County Commissioner and a former N.C. State Representative. 8. Joe Barron, 2008 Before there was "Dateline: How To Catch A Predator," there was Joe Barron -- one of the 40 ministers presiding over the 26,000 members at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Barron, a marriage counseling pastor, was caught in the web of an internet crackdown on pedophiles when he was arrested in 2008 for solicitation of a minor. Barron made the drive from the Dallas area to Bryan, Texas, in order to allegedly engage in sexual relations with what he thought to be a 13-year-old girl he met online. The "girl" turned out to be an undercover law enforcement official. At the time of the arrest, police found found condoms, a webcam and headset in Barron's car. 9. Tony Alamo, 2008 In September 2008, FBI agents raided the Tony Alamo Christian Ministries headquarters in a child pornography investigation, after the mayor of Fouke, Arkansas, office had received complaints from former ministry members about allegations of child abuse, sexual abuse and polygamy. In late July 2009, Alamo was convicted on ten counts of transporting young girls and boys across state lines for sexual activities and pornography. On November 13, 2009, he was sentenced to the maximum punishment of 175 years in prison. 10. George Alan Rekers, 2010 George Alan Rekers, a far-right Christian leader was encountered and photographed at Miami International Airport returning from an extended overseas trip with a twenty-year-old gay male prostitute, known as a "rent boy." Given Rekers' opinion on homosexuals and homosexual behavior, his decision to employ a homosexual escort as a traveling companion, stirred up a scandal. Rekers initially claimed that the escort was there to help carry luggage, but later gave a new explanation for the trip on Facebook, "I deliberately spend time with sinners with the loving goal to try to help them." The escort claimed in subsequent interviews, that Rekers had paid him to provide nude massages daily, which included genital touching

The family of a 3-year-old boy who was raped in a bathroom by a teenage male volunteer as they worshiped at a Tennessee church last summer has filed a staggering $37.5 million lawsuit against the organization for negligence.

According to News Channel 5 the toddler's parents had been members of the church for 12 years and were married and baptized there as well.

They explained that their son was raped after they dropped him off at the church's children's ministry but they didn't realize what had happened until the next weekend.

"Their son was saying he didn't want to go back to church," Kathryn Barnett of Morgan & Morgan, the firm representing the family, told News Channel 5. After asking more questions they realized their son was assaulted.

The family alleges that when they reached out to the church to inform them about what happened, Fellowship Bible Church at first denied the claims and charged that the child was lying.

"The church urged the family not to pursue criminal charges against the perpetrator," according to court documents.

The parents ignored that advice, however, and took the teenager to court where he pled guilty to aggravated sexual battery.

The lawsuit also charges that the church misled the parents of other toddlers and "sought to hide the truth about the perpetrator pedophile and about the rape of the 3 year old from other families."

Fellowship Bible Church Pastor Bill Wellons denied the church tried to cover up the crime.

Christians don't like us talking about these matters, do they.

After Church Leader is Convicted for Decade of Rape, His Community Blames the Victim
November 4, 2015 by Lauren Nelson 269 Comments
If you’ve ever wondered why survivors of sexual assault so rarely report the crimes, look no further than the quaint little town of Dearborn, Missouri. The tight-knit community of 496 people spread across less than a square mile in many ways brings to mind simpler times. Unfortunately, it seems as though that aura has cultivated a mob of simple minds who believe the faithful are incapable of horrendous acts… even when they’ve admitted to it.

Darren Paden was sentenced to 50 years in prison Friday after pleading guilty in August to two counts of first-degree statutory sodomy — but friends, family members, church elders and community leaders begged a judge to go easy on him.
Prosecutors said the 52-year-old Paden sexually abused the girl up to 300 times over a decade, beginning before she was 5 years old. His 28-year-old son, Anthony Paden, was also charged with sex abuse, although his case remains pending.
But community members have turned their backs on the girl, who is now 18 years old and testified against her abuser in court, and rallied around Paden.
Take a minute to let that sink in. This was an adult who raped a young girl for ten years and admitted to it. Instead of feeling anger towards the abuser, or heartbreak for the young girl, or terror over the fact that something like this had been going on in their town for so long, the community rose to the defense of a monster.
Prior to the sentencing, dozens of letters were sent calling for mercy on him. They referenced the man’s family, his service in the Air National Guard and the local fire department, and his position as a junior deacon at New Market Christian Church. They asked the judge to consider all the good deeds he’d committed over his lifetime. The actually argued that the man had already been punished enough, just by going through the trial. As one woman wrote:
I truly believe that Darren has already suffered extensively for his actions by being kept away from his young children and his home life, and by not being able to provide for this family. Because of the significant difficulties that will face his innocent family, I would ask you, Judge Van Amburg, to grant Darren a sentence of probation or at least the lowest possible sentence.
So mental anguish is apparently on par with a decade of sexual abuse endured by a victim. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg. The defenses got more and more twisted the further you read.
Nevermind that Paden already confessed to the crimes, said others. Gene Blankenship, a trustee at Paden’s church, proclaimed:
Only God, Darren and (the victim) know what truly happened. I feel Darren may have admitted to things he did not do after hours of interrogation and all the pressure to admit guilt.
Paden’s 82-year-old aunt Dixie Wilson has shrugged off the flabbergasted public response to the community’s support for a child molestor, saying she’d feel sorry for the girl if she’d actually been abused, but that it wasn’t the case. The whole situation, she claimed, was a test of their faith:
Our community is one that we deeply believe in God and we’re not going to buckle under anything. We’re not going to let it destroy all of us. We’re going to keep doing our good works and doing what we believe and rely on each other.
We’re talking about a young woman who was sexually abused by a church leader for ten years, who resorted to self-harm and wrestled with the idea of suicide. Since coming forward, she’s been denied service and housing and called a liar at every turn. So many sexual assault survivors don’t come forward out of fear that no one will believe them; too many end up facing it with a hefty serving of victim blaming to boot. But this young woman in Dearborn is living the survivor’s nightmare in extreme fashion, being ostracized by her community for having the courage to report her abuser.
Perhaps in this close Christian community, such a reaction should not surprise us. We’re talking about a faith whose foundational texts diminish the significance of rape or attempt to justify it. We’re talking about believers who can justify that Christian husbands who want to force sex with unwilling wives can still do so as long as they don’t look at their faces. We’re living in a world where people continue to support denominations that actively worked to cover up sexual abuse of children for decades.
So much for Christian love.

Yet the Christian religion is founded on the word of a thirteen year old jewish minx who got pregnant and denied she ever had sex. You'd think this kind of story would be right up their alley. Wouldn't you?

You would. Especially with all the kinky rape and incest in the Buy-bull.
