Obama Administration will delay ACA employer mandate for at least a year

I don't know. I think that the ACA backlash has already occured. If history is any indication, the president's party will lose seats in Congress in the midterms. If that pattern holds true, the ACA will be blamed regardless of whether it was actually the cause.

It WILL be the cause .. just as it was the cause of the 2010 midterms disaster for democrats.

The ACA could very well be the worst law ever written.

All they had to do was remove two words, 'over 65' and healthcare would have been done, and today, democrats would be widely praised for it.

Unfortunately, they elected a corporatist fraud.

Well I hope you are wrong, but either way, DH makes a good point that traditionally you do lose seats in the midterms.

Though, I remember 1998. I guess I was hoping...

You don't traditionally lose the number of seats democrats did in 2010. Obamacare alone cost democrats 25 seats in the House .. and I can post the study that determines that.

Because of the idiocy of Obamacare .. and Obama .. republicans now control the House and intend to wreck havoc on everything they touch .. including Obamacare.

Imagine what it's going to be like with republicans controlling both the House and Senate and a presidential election on the horizon?

DEMOCRATS did this to themselves. They didn't shoot themselves in the foot .. they shot themselves in the head.

They've postponed the implementation of a LAW because it is politically inconvenient.

I've not heard of that before.

Shocking, isn't it? not like the repubs refused to appoint someone as head of the Consumer Protection Board, which kept it from doing its job...no, no, they would never delay implementation of a law.....{eye roll}

I don't disagree with you at all good sister.

But that won't help democrats with this.

Have to say, I'm with Dungheap - I don't think the ACA will hurt the dems in the 2014 elections. It will be old news by then.

But we'll see...dark the future is

For better or worse I don't see the ACA as being old news next year. Many of the exchanges are still being worked on and haven't been rolled out yet. We haven't seen the program fully up and running. I think it's going to be a hot topic for quite awhile.

This part of the ACA, which is HEAVILY dependent on young and healthy workers signing up .. is never going to work .. and if it doesn't .. premiums will go through the roof.

Obamacare Challenge: Getting Young Workers to Buy Insurance

In health policy circles, they are called the young invincible – healthy adults under the age of 30 who don't feel they need to buy health insurance. Even when they're offered coverage at work, a new ADP study found only half of young adults opt to take their company plan, compared with 70 percent of workers over age 40.

"This has historically been the case that younger folks tend to want to go it alone, so to speak, at a much higher rate than older folks," said Tim Clifford, president of ADP Benefits & Talent Management Services.

Young adults make up a disproportionate share of the nation's 50 million uninsured. Getting them to sign up for insurance coverage will be a major focus of the government this fall during the roll-out of the Affordable Care Act, or ACA, also known as Obamacare.

It's also important for companies with 50 more full-time employees to offer their young adult workers coverage, and get them to sign up, or face potential penalties starting in 2014. That may mean a big shift in benefit plans for some employers.

---

The Obama administration has targeted enrolling at least 2.7 million young adults through the state and federal exchanges for coverage in 2014. But there's still a big question about whether young adults will enroll, or just opt to pay the penalty, which for the first year could be as little as $95.

---

"A $95 penalty, which isn't even due this fall but at tax time—and it's kind of invisible at that point—is probably not enough to change behavior," said ADP's Tim Clifford.

Who in the hell designed such an ill-conceived idea?

Answer: THE HERITAGE FOUNDATION

Yes, that HERITAGE FOUNDATION

Obamacare is Romneycare on a national level .. authored by Liz Fowler, a health insurance lobbyist and exec .. designed by :palm: THE HERITAGE FOUNDATION.

Obama turned healthcare reform over to the very people it was supposed to rein in.

You've been played.

Somehow I doubt we will see the full implementation of this fiasco while Obama is in office. The delays will keep coming until after the Presidential election of 2016.

If so, Hillary will do a great job finishing the implementation.

LOL YOu probably don't know this, but superfreak suffers from HDS - Hillary Derangement Syndrome. It's been in remission since she lost the primary, but get ready everyone! I suggest we all get one of those fishing suits Rune posted a picture of yesterday! The foaming at the mouth is bound to lead to splashing spittle!

Hmm... yet I have stated she would have been better than Obama and that she is a strong candidate... just one I do not agree with on a policy basis (for the most part).
