Obama and EPA start talking tax on livestock or really meat and milk

this is the libs/socialists effort at establishing the nobility. Only the wealthy will now be able to afford meat products. Us serfs will have to live on beans and rice.

Hunters will always have meat.

The soy milk is not something I can drink. My daughter is lactose-intolerant, and she loves it.

I know starbucks makes soy lattes, but they also make a straight double espresso. That is the way the gods intended we drink coffee.

Give me fresh milk, fresh butter and hold the hormones.

Leftwing Liberal bureaucrats at the EPA, buoyed by Dems complete control over power in DC are looking to have a tax on cows.
So crazy; leftwing Democrats driving up the cost of milk so less kids can have it, all in the name of combatting a problem that more and more scientists are agreeing is NOT a problem.

"Call this one of the newest and innovative the ways your government has come up with to battle greenhouse gas emissions.

Indirectly it could be considered a cheeseburger tax, but one of the suggestions offered by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in its Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) for regulating greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act is to levy a tax on livestock.

The ANPR, released early this year, would give the EPA the authority to regulate greenhouse gas for not only greenhouse gas from manmade sources like transportation and industry, but also “stationary” sources which would include livestock.

The New York Farm Bureau assigned a price tag to the cost of greenhouse gas regulation by the EPA in a release last month.

“The tax for dairy cows could be $175 per cow, and $87.50 per head of beef cattle. The tax on hogs would upwards of $20 per hog,” the release said. “Any operation with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle or 200 hogs would have to obtain permits.”"

Correrct me if I'm wrong....and I work with EPA every day....but isn't Bush still our President and isn't EPA being administered by a Republican adminstration?

Ya'll seriously need to do your homework instead of cherry picking stories from Newsmax, Fox news and the Drudge Report.

I did do my homework, from the rest of the article where it specifically mentions it is far more likely to happen under Obama and the leftwing EPA knows this:

"Rick Krause, senior director of congressional relations for the American Farm Bureau, warned it’s certainly feasible – especially based on the rhetoric of President-elect Barack Obama and the use of the EPA to combat global warming. Such action by an Obama administration would take an act of Congress for livestock to be exempt.

“The new president has been on record as saying that he really supports regulating greenhouse gases out of the Clean Air Act,” Krause said to the Business & Media Institute. “So, we really have to keep an eye on it. Legislation would really be the only way to exempt it at this point – the cow tax.”"

Yeah, I suppose under Bush is was number eleventy billion and one on the list of things to do.

Really? And just because some right wing pundit say's that it is more likely under Obama makes it so?

What about the legislative process and how will this work under the rules writing process of the federal registrar? Please explain to me how this would work? Did it pass your understanding that the CAA all ready regulates point source emissions of green house gases?

Bush fucked up a lot but has he ever increased taxes? No. There is little question that this proposal for a cow tax has a FAR better chance of passing under Obama, moreso given that he has been talking about tax increases and regulating greenhouse gases, all in the name of combatting a problem that increasingly looks like it does not exist.

But there is no such proposal. None.
