Thanks, I read the entire transcript. Here's what I'm getting out of it.

Piolin takes Obama to task for not doing enough to push comprehensive immigration reform.

Obama responds that he doesn't have enough votes, both Dem and Repub, to get it through. He specifically mentions "11 Republicans in the United States Senate who voted for Comprehensive Immigration Reform four years ago, but now are not willing to step up.."

Piolin says Obama was able to push health care through the system but he's not working as hard for immigration reform.

Obama repeats that he can't even get 100% of Dems, let alone enough a few Repubs to make reform a done deal. He wants bipartisan support, something that was happening four years ago but isn't now.

Piolin says he contacted the WH about putting together a group of leaders that could help the cause, but never heard back from Obama.

Obama responds that even though the vast majority of Dems support reform, Repubs are not only withholding support, they're doing things to damage the Latino community. He repeats he needs some support from Repubs, not even 50% but some.

Piolin says when is this going to happen.

Obama responds "And if Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, we're gonna punish our enemies and we're gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us, if they don't see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it's gonna be harder and that's why I think it's so important that people focus on voting on November 2."

Punish our enemies = withholding votes from pols such as Sharron Angle and others running who hold the same anti-immigrant views.

Tinny says "He's calling citizens the enemy." I suppose if you're saying that even anti-immigration pols are citizens, that's true. But I don't see from the remarks that Obama's calling all citizens the enemy.

It's a false dichotomy. Look up the definition. bush had a hell of a lot of nerve telling other nations that they were standing with terrorists if they didn't agree with his position. He had absolutely no business imposing his views on the world and in fact, his black and white stances on so many issues were what made him reviled throughout the world for eight years.

He didn't call "other Americans" the enemies. Read the transcript. He's talking about pols like Sharron Angle, Jan Brewer and other with anti-immigration platforms. He saying Latinos shouldn't vote for those pols who are working against Latino interests. The reward is the vote, and you don't give it to people who are against you.

please....he is calling his political opponents HIS and THEIR enemies...are you actually suggesting that those who support the political opponents are somehow "friends".....think about it...he is telling them essentially to support us and me as we are YOUR friends, not your enemies...if those people are friends of obama, then it logically makes sense they can't be "friends" with the right as those people are enemies

The gist of the entire issue...BOTH in Bush's statement and in Hillary's statement....as clearly defined by both of them...

"Our enemy is a radical network of terrorists and every government that supports them."
AND
"And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism."

There are not more than 2 choices....
CHOICE 1:
you either provide aid(finance them) or safe haven to terrorism and so support them.....

CHOICE 2
OR YOU DO NOT.....

Choose 1 and you are against us
Choose 2 and you are with us

Quite unambiguous and clear....for non-pinheads.
