The problem is no one has the balls to talk about the elephant in the room: we've made a mess we can't clean up. Rather than sit there in Iraq out of guilt with no real strategy or means to quell the infighting and subdue the rise of al queda that Bush has encouraged, we need to cut our losses and get the fuck out.

Yes, many people find time for jokes. There is no capacity in the human for constant outrage without any room for any other normal life. To suggest such is puerile. Any person with such levels of outrage would be considered psychologically damaged. I'd even go so far as to say that even Obama makes jokes while our troops are in Iraq. He might even show up on Jay Leno's show, for instance, and during that time he might even laugh....
I would even bet those troops often joke as they are within that hell.
The joke was about the Senate and how often they talk too much. It is simply ridiculous to pretend he somehow, by taking 30 seconds to make a self-deprecating joke, "insulted" the troops.
