I quit drinking 31 years ago, and smoke really good pot that wasn't around 30 years ago. What Grind said.

well then we should ban alcohol then and trade it with weed.

weed is not physically addictive, you can't overdose on weed, it doesn't make you angry and beat people like a violent drunk would, weed is one of the least harmful drugs out there.
 
weed has almost gotten me to the point where I don't even like getting drunk anymore. Sure, I'll still get blasted sometimes. But hangovers suck, I never get weed hangovers. I would rather just have weed or like drop acid or eat mushrooms or something, Alcohol is like the least fun recreational drug imo. It's best quality is its ready availability.

people like to think this is subjective or a matter of opinion. it's not. It's so funny how many anti-drug americans are doing one of the worst drugs of all without even knowing it. (to the point where they will even refer to the grouping as drugs & alcohol... as if alcohol isn't even a drug to begin with).

There is one reason you missed. Many, many people drink alcohol without getting drunk. They drink a glass of wine with dinner or a beer after work, and they don't get drunk. I've never known anyone (including myself) who smoked pot without getting stoned.

Marijuana should be legal for many reasons. Comparing it to alcohol is not one of those reasons.

Exactly. People smoke to get high (which is perfectly fine), but not everyone drinks for the mind altering properties (fun as they are).

I don't always get a hangover. only when I go full throttle.

the only quantifiable thing I could think of is maybe dehydration levels, maybe blood pressure in the head or something.

hangovers are annoying, they aren't incapacitating. yeah I think someone can run 3 miles with a headache.
