Franklin Pierce and Rufus King got WA counties in their name, so it's not beyond the pale to assume Buchanan has a monument somewhere. My point, Jarod, is that Obama has accomplished about as much as Buchanan, Hoover, Nixon, and Dubya, regardless of what accolades he may receive.

Buchanan was an accomplished ambassador prior to becoming president. Hoover and Carter are celebrated humanitarians, and Nixon had his domestic reforms and diplomatic accomplishments. Obama got a Nobel peace prize for war and drone strikes.

There are people who think Nixon, Carter and GWB were great Presidents as well. If you think his first four years makes him a great President then you are in a small minority.

Uhhhh I wouldn't get carried away if I was you. Just because a President is a transformational and historically significant person doesn't exactly make him a great President. I've voted for Obama twice and though I agree he's had some historically significant accomplishments......he's no FDR. Not even close. It takes great events to make a great President. Obama has ended two proxy wars, guided us through the great recession, saved our auto industry, killed Bin Ladin and began much needed reform to our health care system and though those are very significant accomplishments, they aint exactly what the stuff of greatness is made of.

The election is over... you can cut out the nonsense.

1) Obama followed the Bush/Iraqi plan for withdrawal. Giving him credit for ending the war in Iraq is like giving him credit for the economic meltdown that occurred under Bush and continued into Obama's first term

2) Obama ESCALATED Afghanistan. He did not end the war there.

3) He did not save the auto industry, he screwed the American public to benefit union buddies. GM and Chrysler still suck. He simply pushed the problem into the future.

4) Yes, he killed Bin Laden

5) Obama care is going to hasten the economic decline in the US as we cannot pay for the entitlements we already had... now he adds yet another.
