Obama To Use Bush Cybersecurity Plan

Mainstream conservatives adored Bush through the 2006 mid-terms at minimum.

It was only after he was a lame duck that they came out in droves trying to distance themselves, because they realized what he did to the conservative movment.

mainstream is probably accurate...

same thing could be said about clinton...gore ran from him like a ghost running from bill murray

Farily irrelevant to the topic, but if it makes you feel better to bring that up, have at it. It should be noted there that there are many who think Gore would have won easily had he not done that.

That said, glad you finally agree that conservatives only stopped loving Bush when he was a lame duck & they realized they needed to win an election without him.

A Democrat in TX is basically a hardcore rightie in the Northeast.

Conservatives loved Bush for about 7 years. It was only at the end, when they realized how badly he failed, that they started to try to renounce him and make the claim that "he was never really a conservative..."

I stuck with him until TARP, though his budgets were certainly not indicative of conservatism......after TARP there was no doubt that he wasn't "really a conservative"......

So, you stuck with him for 7 years and 10 months?

And then you really drew the line?

yes, I drew the line....using federal money to take over private industry is not acceptable.....

what was my alternative with respect to the budget....throw my support to the liberals who were bitching because we weren't spending ENOUGH?......

I agree....nobody could spend money like a drunken Democrat and REALLY be a conservative.....

I leave the labelling to those who don't have an argument .. but while Bush was spending money like a drunken politician, conservatives were singing his praises until it all went horribly wrong.

Now they want to throw him under the bus and make it all go away.

actually no, they distanced themselves from him, as you even stated, when they realized his policies were either no longer conservative or never conservative. his support for TARP, and mccain's, gave me serious pause about conservatives.

my point in mentioning gore, is that there are a myriad of reasons why some chose to distance themself from bush. look at mccain, he basically supported most of bush's policies, but like clinton, bush became politically unpopular....

at least you admitting that conservatives aren't sheeple and that when our leaders start doing things we don't approve of, we call them out on it, unlike the majority of libs....

Fixed.

The bolded part .. that's a joke, right?

Satire?
Tongue-in-cheek?

Republicans remained lock-step with failing Bush policies all the way to the end .. and many STILL profess he was rtight about everything.

Republicans are more likely to goosestep than anyone else.

Is it too much to ask that you don't create false arguments so you can argue with yourself?

I never said "liberals don't lie."

it isn't a false argument, though I recognize I changed the meaning of your quote....I did so to point out that all your "liberals don't....." claims are meaningless, since liberals will present themselves as doing anything in order to mislead......you can't pay attention to what liberals say they want, you have to pay attention to the results they hand you....
