Obama: U.S. must reverse course with Indians

As I've pointed out, "positive legislation" is a description for more of that awesome "benevolent government help" that has been the slow death of the tribes now for centuries.

That is your OPINION, NOT FACT. If any and all gov't help to the NA's was detrimental, they wouldn't exist or those that survived would be totally assimilated into the general population...period. That is NOT the case. Mind you, I'm not excusing the prejudice or broken treaties and the like, but to simply dismiss what positive legislation done by good folk is wrong.

My statement, as with the proof, regarding the Shrub & company stands valid.

And yet under [LBJ's] leadership, he past[sic] the 1964 Act which was opposed by Dixiecrats and the majority of the Republican party. Check the Congressional record. Sorry asshole, you can't rewrite history while I'm here.

Here's the actual vote totals:

The original House version:
* Democrat Party: 152-96 (61%-39%)
* Republican Party: 138-34 (80%-20%)

The Senate version:
* Democrat Party: 46-21 (69%-31%)
* Republican Party: 27-6 (82%-18%)

About three times the number of Democrats voted against it than Republicans. Sorry Libby, but you can't rewrite history while I'm here. :)

You dumb fuck, the stats point to Yea vs. Nay, not the other way around.

[edit] By party
The original House version:[9]

Democratic Party: 152-96 (61%-39%)
Republican Party: 138-34 (80%-20%)
Cloture in the Senate:[10]

Democratic Party: 44-23 (66%-34%)
Republican Party: 27-6 (82%-18%)
The Senate version:[9]

Democratic Party: 46-21 (69%-31%)
Republican Party: 27-6 (82%-18%)
The Senate version, voted on by the House:

Democratic Party: 153-91 (63%-37%)
Republican Party: 136-35 (80%-20%)

It also confirms my statements regarding the Southern Democrats. That's what your Wikipedia source stated, if you had read it carefully and comprehensively. :palm: Once again, you embarass yourself.

The original House version:

Southern Democrats: 7-87 (7%-93%)
Southern Republicans: 0-10 (0%-100%)
Northern Democrats: 145-9 (94%-6%)
Northern Republicans: 138-24 (85%-15%)
The Senate version:

Southern Democrats: 1-20 (5%-95%) (only Senator Ralph Yarborough of Texas voted in favor)
Southern Republicans: 0-1 (0%-100%) (this was Senator John Tower of Texas)
Northern Democrats: 45-1 (98%-2%) (only Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia opposed the measure)
Northern Republicans: 27-5 (84%-16%) (Senators Barry Goldwater of Arizona, Bourke Hickenlooper of Iowa, Edwin L. Mechem of New Mexico, Milward L. Simpson of Wyoming, and Norris H. Cotton of New Hampshire opposed the measure)

You dumb fuck, the stats point to Yea vs. Nay, not the other way around. ...Once again, you embarass[sic] yourself...

Exactly as I stated earlier. 117 Democrats voted nay vs. 40 Republicans voted nay, therefore almost three times more Democrats voted against Civil Rights.

Once again, you embarrass yourself. (How ironic.) :)

The friends who were so much better for the tribes by cheating and robbing them along with bestowing the blessings of benign negligence when compared to those who try to help. (Another 8 yr to 10 month comparison?)
You mean the friends that worked to kill the tribes through that awesome government "benevolence"?

Those aren't friends, that has been my point.

The Honchos of the past 8 years seem to have had very little regard for the tribes other than self-enrichment which is the reason I think the word "negligence" should be 'avarice'instead, "that has been my point".
There was no benign neglect from those that killed the tribes, it was pure malevolence, more closely related to the above mentioned avarice.
In the title of the thread, Obama is the first word, I don't think his 10 months have done harm to the tribes, and for damn sure an apology was long due and well-received, yet RW kooks criticize that too simply because his name is Obama.

Again, it's a matter of levels. Neither are my "friends", that's foolish. But the level of interference is inversely attributable to the suffering of native tribes. In the places where they were finally successful in throwing off the government red tape, that is the proof, the reality is government "help" has been anything but. If Obama wants to reverse course, then just let them be what they can without his massive "benevolent" hand of government messing around. Let them start businesses without going through the gauntlet, let them be, that's all.

Sorry mastermind, but your myopic viewpoint doesn't stand up against ALL the facts.

You only section out one set of numbers but you avoid the whole picture.
Bottom line: the raw numbers show that more Democratics voted in favor than Republicans. Period. And the nay votes that you are so hyped about were the DIXIECRATS, who stubbornly hold onto the old ways.

Bottom line: you keep trotting out this BS every blessed time you can't win a point on another subject. Once again, reality trumps you...but as usual you'll stubbornly just hold onto PARTS of history that you agree with and ignore the rest. So much more to pity you. You're done.

No, it just shows that your bigotry against me is unfounded.

What bigotry? I call you on what YOU write, jackass. I don't know if you're a man or woman..but you describe yourself as a caucasian man that resides in the Southern United States with ancestory specific to that region. You have supported the mindset of the Confederate Flag as some benign symbol, and have supported every action/policy of the Shrub and his PNAC cronies. You have more than on one action repeated the bigoted and racist platitudes that one finds on the websites of such wanna be intellectuals as David Duke or Stormfront, and you have on more than one occasion repeated the platitudes that have been parroted by the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Malkin, the WND, Newsmax, Drudge and the lot.

Of course, you'll deny all of this, but the recorded posts are your undoing. Now you come with this "some of my best friends are indians" to justify your latest nonsense.

Give me a fucking break with this classic version of the old "some of my best friends are black" nonsense. Anyone over 30 is hip to that garbage.

You don't like being called out on your posts...don't post.

You're trying to play numbers with a guy that took more math related courses in college than you took courses. More Democrats voted for it because there were more Democrats; of course, it's the percentages that are important. Again, here's the actual vote totals:

The original House version:
* Democrat Party: 152-96 (61%-39%)
* Republican Party: 138-34 (80%-20%)

The Senate version:
* Democrat Party: 46-21 (69%-31%)
* Republican Party: 27-6 (82%-18%)

Dixiecrats or what-have-you, they were still registered Democrats and therefore members of the racist party.

BTW, you can only have one "bottom line". LOL

LOL You're such a closed minded idiot.

1. "Southern Man" should clue you into my sex. I've pwned you on that issue before.
2. I've never described myself as Caucasian, not that its a dirty word as you insinuate.
3. My ancestry is not from The South, and I never claimed that it was. Consider yourself pwned again.
4. I've never supported the Confederate Flag.
5. I've only supported conservative policies, and repeated stated that GW Bush is a better politician than a Conservative.
6. Are you talking about the David Duke that started a group in college affiliated with the National Socialist White Peoples Party, ran the KKK between 1974-78, then ran as Democrat for the Louisiana State Senate in 1979, then as Democrat for president in 1988. That David Duke? He's not one of mine Libby, not even close.
7. I haven't "parroted" Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Malkin, the WND, Newsmax, Drudge as you claim. My thoughts are my own, although I agree with these folks often. I invite you to prove that they or I are racists, as you insinuate.
8. i again challenge you to prove your racist accusations against me here.

Yeah chuckles, jokers like you with delusions of intellectualism always label anyone who can disprove your bullshit as "close minded"...like I said previously, you mimic jackasses, you get called on what you write...then you deny it. You're full of it as always

1. "Southern Man" should clue you into my sex. I've pwned you on that issue before. Oooh, I'm "pwned"...point in your favor. BFD.....so now it's official that you're a male neocon parrot with a pointed hood folded under his wing.
2. I've never described myself as Caucasian, not that its a dirty word as you insinuate. Once again, you reveal your bigoted mindset...as I've NEVER stated, alluded to, or insinuated any generalized bigotry or prejudice against white Americans...I do advocate a dislike and distrust of white supremacist and their many factions and supporters.
3. My ancestry is not from The South, and I never claimed that it was. Consider yourself pwned again. Well mastermind, when you call yourself the SOUTHERN man, you sure as hell as don't insinuate that your heritage is Protestant Boston, now do you? Seems logic "pwned" you long time ago.
4. I've never supported the Confederate Flag. You're a liar...as I've demonstrated on these boards before, you supported Dixie's blatherings about the Confederate flag being JUST a symbol of pride and states rights. Like I schooled you before...when you treat slavery like a secondary issue and after thought, that is proof of the subliminal bigotry that was part of the confederacy, because the southern economy sure as hell wouldn't have existed without it. So you and Dixie can blow it out your confederate asses.
5. I've only supported conservative policies, and repeated stated that GW Bush is a better politician than a Conservative. Again, you lie...because in ALL our exchanges you have supported and defended EVERY blessed major policy and action of the last 8 years. Then you should check yourself, Southie....because on several occasions I've pointed out how your ramblings are dead on mimics of the crap and "logic" found in old David's writings.
7. I haven't "parroted" Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Malkin, the WND, Newsmax, Drudge as you claim. Another lie...because in your never ending defense of all things Shrub you've repeated all the moronic justifications that those dopes have publically issued. My thoughts are my own, although I agree with these folks often. Which makes you the typical gutless neocon parrot...you claim mental independence, yet you are in lock step with these idiots. Pathetic. I invite you to prove that they or I are racists, as you insinuate.
8. i again challenge you to prove your racist accusations against me here.

I've already done this regarding the Confederate flag issue with a link....you just ignored it. I've already done this by pointing out your idiotic statements about black people..you just deny it. You just deny/reject/ignore any and every posts that disproves your bullshit...and then you keep asking for proof. You're full of it Southie...just like your BS about your best friend being 1/4 indian. All you do is just play the dodge game...when you can win an argument, you change the subject...when caught with logic, you just change the subject...then you drag out the issue hoping that no one will remember the last time you were proven wrong. Grow up, because the post are there for all to see..and people remember.

Once again folks, our chuckling neocon chowderhead just focuses on ONE part of the information and IGNORES everything else....just like I said he would:

Just Plain Politics! - View Single Post - Obama: U.S. must reverse course with Indians

Southie just can't deal with the WHOLE truth. He's a phony...touting himself to be a SOUTHERN Man when he states he has NO southern lineage. What a clown!

1. A debate point for me, followed by another of your baseless KKK accusations. The KKK is a terrorist wing of the Democrat Party, of which I am not a member.
2. Being Caucasian doesn’t equate with white supremacy, and again, I’ve never touted myself as Caucasian.
3. I moved to The South for a better life for my family after becoming disgusted with the racist and liberal northeast. That is why I consider myself a Southern Man.
4. You called me a liar: that I have supported the Confederate flag, now prove it or recant.
5. You claim that I “have supported and defended EVERY blessed major policy and action of the last 8 years. Prove it or recant.
6. You also claim that my “ramblings are dead on mimics of the crap and "logic" found in old David's writings”. Prove it or recant.
