Since July 2009, the number Strongly Approving of the president’s performance has ranged from a low of 23% to a high of 31%. By comparison, 43% Strongly Approved of the president's performance in January 2009, the month he took office.
The number of voters who Strongly Disapprove of the president’s performance increased two points to 38% in June. The number of voters who Strongly Disapproved has ranged from 36% to 44% since July 2009.
Accordingly, the full-month Presidential Approval Index rating for June is down four points from May to -15. That’s back to where it was in the months of March and April. With a few exceptions, the president’s approval index rating has stayed between -14 and -17 since the beginning of 2010.
The full-month numbers show Strong Approval from 45% of Democrats in June while 67% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove. Among voters not affiliated with either party, 16% Strongly Approve and 38% Strongly Disapprove of Obama's job performance.
