Ode to the former Black Sea fleet HQ

The ATACMS they are currently sending are cluster munitions.

Good. They can kill more Russian soldiers that way. Unlike the Russians who have been using cluster munitions to target civilians.

Growing Civilian Toll from Russian Cluster Munition Attacks
Russian forces’ repeated use of cluster munitions has caused predictable and lasting harm to hundreds of Ukrainian civilians, Human Rights Watch said today in releasing the 100-page global Cluster Munition Monitor 2022 report. Both Russia and Ukraine should reject the use of cluster munitions and join the 2008 international treaty banning them.

Ukraine is the only country in the world where cluster munitions are being used today, Human Rights Watch said. Hundreds of Russian cluster munition attacks have been documented, reported, or alleged in at least 10 of Ukraine’s 24 regions, or oblasts. Preliminary data shows at least 689 civilian casualties from cluster munition attacks in Ukraine between February and July 2022. Ukrainian forces also appear to have used cluster munitions rockets on at least two occasions.

Its a building. The important point here is that this was a full on NATO operation, this is an escalation. Putin is a master of escalation management for sure but China Bloc does notice and does care.

Here is a video of the strike on Black Sea fleet headquarters.

Military: 34 Russian Black Sea Fleet officers, including commander, killed in Sevastopol strike

Last week's strike against the Russian Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol killed 34 Russian officers, including the fleet's commander, and injured 105 more soldiers, the Special Operations Forces Command of Ukraine's Armed Forces said on Sept. 25.

Although reports of the death of the Black Sea Fleet's commander Admiral Viktor Sokolov emerged earlier, they had not been confirmed by official Ukrainian sources until now.

Dead Russian officers is a good thing.

Dead Russian officers is a good thing.

I am not losing any sleep over legitimate military targets of the invaders being hit.

The risk now is Putin is emboldened by MAGA being keen on defunding Ukranians. Putin believes history shows Russia is more tenacious and resilient than the weak West, and he might not be wrong.

Dictators always have more resolve than democracies.

This war won't end until the Russia people themselves tire of it.

The biggest danger to Ukraine is America losing interest in the war

Agreed, but that doesn't mean it would end. The Ukrainians would fight a guerrilla war until the Russians finally got tired and left. It might take ten years like in Afghanistan under the Soviets, but it would happen.

I read that Ukraine is taking the bomblets out of the cluster bombs and using them with drones with great success.

He's hitting grain silos and power plants now.

Drone tech has come a long way over the past 20 years. Being able to take out a specific command staff car or put it through an office window saves lives.

Somewhere I have a link to a presentation re. a baseball sized drone that employs facial recognition.

Found it
