Official: Russia scraps plan to deploy missiles near Poland

As if you people give a shit. You only disagree because Obama is president. I'll bet you couldn't find Poland on an unlabeled map if your lives depended on it.

have you ever counted how many tantrums a day you have?

Nothing to count. My boss is in the White House, and I'm happy about it.

How's your life going?

And Poland is supposed to depend on Russian technology as opposed to US technology? I have been challenged in my thinking on this issue before. I came to see the real use and ideas behind the missiles (see my post nutshell yes/no). Still, I also read how far advanced technologically we are over everyone else. We really do have the best missile defense system.

What the hell are you babbling on about now?

You may have the best missile system but however good you may think it is 10 missiles stationed in Poland isn't really going to prevent Russia obliterating Poland if that is what it had in mind. Your missile defence system couldn't cope with a mass Russian launch and nobody claims it would. Although feel free to contradict me.

Oddly enough though, Russia has no more desire to see the motherland end up a radioactive wasteland just as America is wary of witnessing a Mad Max style post apocalyptic scenario. The threat of assured death is probably sufficient to ensure continued life, don't you think?

well I guess that's a wait and see now isn't it..we all better hope you're right..

Well it's kind of proven to be right since the inception of the nuclear bomb.

(Clue - that's why we're all still here)

This is a decision that will leave America stronger and more capable of defending our troops, our interests and our allies. It does what missile defense is actually supposed to do.

Poland and the Czech Republic are at the top of the administration's list of candidates to host land-based versions of the new missile interceptor.

A Patriot antimissile unit will do rotational duty in Poland.

And oddly it is you who are babbeling. The missile defense was about defense from Iran AND Russia. It was also about economic help to the Pols and the Czchs that the defense system would bring being located there. Having some modicum of protection from Russia is certainly better than none! Where the fuck you been?

I noticed that Ass Dancer and memeliar are apparently ignorant of the impending sale of $7.8 billion worth of PAC-3 antimissile batteries and related equipment to Turkey.

Ignore them.

What's precluding economic help to Poland?

And "Having some modicum of protection from Russia is certainly better than none!" is it?

So If your 10 missiles manage to bring down the first 10 Russian ICBM's aimed at Poland (and that's generous) how do you think the Russians will cope safe in the knowledge that they can launch another 100 at the drop of a hat?

You really are more stupid than even i gave you credit for in the past.

The US is deploying a Patriot unit to Poland. The only reason the rightwingnuts even care about any of this is their lockstep, blind opposition to everything the president does.

Don't worry, the adults are in charge. After the last 8 years, I know most of the world's people are relieved.

What a stupid response. Having the offer of developing technologies that will create jobs as well as create a need to expand services to serve those workers is a huge opportunity that I am certain Pols and Czchs looked forward to.

Yes, it is.

You really are more of a simpering asshole than I first gave you credit for.

The tender for the Turkish project started in early April, Charver.

The RFP went to the China National Precision Machinery Import-Export Corporation, Rosoboronexport, Raytheon and Lockheed Martin.

Lockheed Martin and Raytheon offered a joint combination of PAC-3 and PAC-2 SAMs. The Turkish Undersecretariat for the Defense Industry filed a letter of request on April 8 through the US Army's Foreign Military Sales program.

Turkey will use the missiles to boost it's defense capability and deter potential regional threats.
