I didn’t see the Canadian ad, but did hear parts of it. I did watch Reagan’s video in its entirety. Reagan was distinctly anti-tariff except in specific instances. At that time, computer chips. He was vehemently opposed to tariffs as an economic policy. Very much the opposite of Trump’s policy.

Every single POTUS speech quoted in news articles or on TV, unless it is full trascript, did exactly what Ontario government did. They had 1 minute worth of commercial time to fill from a longer speech and they selected out two statements equalling one minute and played them verbatim. Not a word changed or taken out of context.
